Having lived in Anchorage, Alaska, for some 45 years and being a small-business owner for decades, I have traveled worldwide extensively as well as throughout the state of Alaska. Was born and raised and lived for many years in both Norway and Sweden before moving to Alaska. Worked in the airline and travel industry for years and display a great joy and passion sharing information related to travel within the state, and possess patience and enthusiasm along with a good dose of positivity! I am easy to get along with, flexible, and will go out of my way to provide for an exceptional and personal learning experience for every tour customer, whom I treat as a personal guest. All of my tours can be customized upon request and always open to new adventures. I am a small business owner specializing in Alaska travel and outdoor activities, including guiding groups of individuals in wilderness settings, and have written or co-authored a half dozen books on specifics regarding the subject. I am also trained in CPR and First Aid. Was employed as a teacher at the University of Alaska for 14 years as well. None

A very popular destination among local outdoor enthusiasts, the Eagle River area provides absolutely stunning views of the tall and jagged Chugach Mountains, complete with ice and snow fields, and a heavily forested valley teeming with fish and wildlife, and even presents the opportunity to find delicious berries in season. The Eagle River Nature Center is located at the end of the road, which is the hub for all area activity, and has visual interpretations available for visitors. The little clearwater stream meandering through the meadows within easy walking distance of the nature center has runs of spawning salmon in late summer and fall, which also draws the attention of both black and brown bear that may quite frequently be observed attempting to catch a fish. A fairly extensive trail system is present, with several tracts offering easy day hiking trips. This is a great destination for those wanting something close to Anchorage with the opportunity to see a wide range of Alaska-themed sights.
