I was born and raised in Alaska like my mother before me. I grew up traveling the state with my father as he worked on construction sites as an engineer. I have a B. A. in political science from the University of Alaska and there is little I don't know about Alaska history and culture. I am part Native-Alaskan (some people call them Eskimo) and know much about that part of my family tree. I am proud to be Alaskan and enjoy sharing my knowledge of the Great Land with visitors from all over the world. Ryan was very nice and knowledgable. We had 4 adults and the van he was going to use was not avaliable. He took us in his small SUV and it was cramped. But did make it up to us by taking us to a waterfall which was usually not part of his itenerary.

Had a good time visiting the Potter Marsh, airport, seaplane base. Ryan took us to a couple of local restaurants and the food was very good.

If I could rate my tour above a 5, I would! FANTASTIC!! Ryan was wonderful. He knows the area very well, including its history, myths (Sleeping Lady) and the best scenic views. Keep in mind this was off season and it was an incredible time (Beluga Point, Potters Marsh, Earthquake Park, and much more). I would highly recommend Ryan. Again, knowledgeable, friendly and I guarantee you'll have a great time!

-Downtown Anchorage -Ship creek, where Anchorage was first settled as a tent city in 1911 along an urban fishery -Earthquake Park, where we can see evidence of the largest recorded earthquake in US history. -Point Woronzof, for scenic views of Cook Inlet set against the Chugach mountains -Lake Hood float-plane base, largest seaplane base in the world to watch pilots expertly land and park their planes -Scenic Seward highway & Beluga point, See stunning scenery along the scenic Seward Highway with a change to stop and take pictures -Potter marsh, a local wildlife refuge where we might see spawning salmon. *substitutions can be made for places in the itinerary
