Welcome! My name is Greg and I've been a resident of Anchorage since 1981. I came here by motor home on vacation and I feel like I'm still on vacation. I worked in the fishing industry during the 80's and that sealed my love for Alaska. I next sold real estate through the 90's until 2004 and made many local friends. I have been leading tours between Seward and Fairbanks Alaska since 2008 and have driven that highway 100's of times. The thing so great about it is that it looks different every tour I drive. I love talking about Alaska and spreading the news about it. I would love to tell you and show you what I know about this beautiful state. I am very open to all destinations and tour ideas you may have. Class B Commercial Drivers Liscense. None

What a way to spend your last five hours on mainland Alaska, while on a private scenic tour along the Turnagain Arm with a local guide, before your seven day cruise. There is an amazing amount of history that you will learn on this tour especially the closer we get to Whittier, "The Strangest City in Alaska". Hopefully we can time this tour as to see the surfers riding the tidal bore along the Turnagain Arm, quite a phenomenon. I've driven this stretch 100's of times and it looks different to me every time. My plan is to make this day your most memorable of your visit. We'll be spending time and making stops in places the large motor coaches won't go. We have plenty of choices for things to do. Check the itinerary below. We can do some or all.
I will pick you up in Anchorage. Then we'll take a tour of Anchorage. I like to call it a "city tour while hunting for moose". Including stops at: Anchorage Salmon hatchery, Earthquake Park, and Lake Hood We'll then head south out the Seward Highway toward the Turnagain Arm, about a 40 mile stretch with our first stop at Beluga Point. Then on to Girdwood to take a short break or stay for the optional tram ride up Mt. Alyeska for lunch. (Tram and lunch cost not included) Then an optional visit into the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center with over 250 acres of all Alaska animals. (Entrance fees not included) Then go 10 miles down beautiful Portage Road through Portage Valley to Portage Lake and the Whittier Tunnel. After we clear the historic 2. 5-mile tunnel, I will make a short loop around Whitter, there are no long loops, and then on to your ship. **This tour can be customized to do and see things you've yet to see between Anchorage and Whittier.
