Having lived in Anchorage, Alaska, for some 45 years and being a small-business owner for decades, I have traveled worldwide extensively as well as throughout the state of Alaska. Was born and raised and lived for many years in both Norway and Sweden before moving to Alaska. Worked in the airline and travel industry for years and display a great joy and passion sharing information related to travel within the state, and possess patience and enthusiasm along with a good dose of positivity! I am easy to get along with, flexible, and will go out of my way to provide for an exceptional and personal learning experience for every tour customer, whom I treat as a personal guest. All of my tours can be customized upon request and always open to new adventures. I am a small business owner specializing in Alaska travel and outdoor activities, including guiding groups of individuals in wilderness settings, and have written or co-authored a half dozen books on specifics regarding the subject. I am also trained in CPR and First Aid. Was employed as a teacher at the University of Alaska for 14 years as well. None

Experience Alaska on a very intimate level, from alpine glaciers and old gold mining sites to observing fish and wildlife in their natural habitat and taking part of the state's historical past. As there is a tremendous variety of things to see and do, this tour is catered specifically to the interests of the individual. It can be a tour of activity that includes hiking on trails through the northern boreal rainforest along salmon spawning streams, sightseeing coastal towns with local artwork and foods, or relaxing at a surf-swept beach spotting marine life such as whales, seals, and sea otters. Perhaps taking a day or two to chase salmon, trout, or halibut for fun or to bring home is in order. Visiting an old Russian Orthodox church with all its exquisite ornaments and rich history can be arranged, even having an authentic Russian meal served in one of the villages on the peninsula. This is a tour about interests and flexibility, much of it not seen or experienced on regular tours.
NOTE: Throughout the four-day tour, there is room for hiking, river and ocean fishing, river rafting, biking, glacier cruises, kayaking, wildlife viewing, and more. Consult with guide and have vacation custom planned! Day 1: Pick Up (airport, cruise dock, hotel, etc. ) * Depart south on Seward Highway, a nationally recognized scenic byway * Drive to coastal port of Whittier on Prince William Sound * Proceed to community of Hope, hub of gold mining activity * Stop at salmon spawning streams for viewing * Arrive in coastal port of Seward; spend the night Day 2: * Explore city of Seward * Depart for Cooper Landing, stopping at select sites on the way * Stop in Kenai City to view local fisheries * Stop in Ninilchik, visit Russian Orthodox church * Arrive in port of Homer; spend the night Day 3: * Explore city of Homer and Homer Spit * Take short ferry ride to town of Seldovia (option) Day 4: * Depart Homer mid-day for Anchorage, stopping at select sites along the way * Evening arrival in Anchorage; Drop Off
