Hello! Welcome to the Scottish Highlands! Before I became a Tour Guide in 2016, I worked at Culloden Battlefield, where I led demonstrations of Highland weaponry and use of traditional clothing. My passion runs deep for all things Highland, particularly the Clans, Tartans, Kilts and Single Malt Whisky. As a Local, I enjoy sharing our culture and traditions as well as showing people our magnificent scenery and heritage. You will be accompanied by myself - an actual Highlander in a Kilt, who is well familiar with Highland roads, points of interests and some hidden gems. There will be endless stories of legendary folklore that I like to match with Highland hospitality. I am based at the Capital of the Highlands - Inverness. It is the home of our dear Nessie (the Loch Ness 'monster'). Here you will find actual places from the famous Outlander TV Show, inspired by the ones found at Clava Cairns and historical accounts of battles fought at Culloden. To this day, Inverness still has its delightful medieval flavour. Please be informed that I can accommodate a minimum of 2 or 3 passengers and maximum of 6. Solo travellers will need to book for 2. Overview of your Inverness tour
I worked at Culloden Battlefield for many years, where I gained a wealth of knowledge about the famous battle and struggle of the Jacobites rising against the British force. It made me an expert on the 18th Century Highlands and Clan Life. We will walk on sacred grounds amongst fallen heroes and possible ancestors. I will also take you to the mystical Clava Cairns that has been in existence since the Bronze Age. I will get you acquainted with interesting stories of Highland culture, tartans, kilts and folklore and visit a world-renowned castle on the shores of Loch Ness. You will also experience local life in the city of Inverness. Taste traditional food, listen to some of our talented buskers, shop for souvenirs or just explore. This tour can be customized according to your preference but requires a minimum of 2 people per booking; maximum 6. I am looking forward to welcoming you!
Your Inverness tour itinerary
- Pick up from the cruise port - Drive to Urquhart Castle (about an hour) to stop and explore the castle for about an hour as well. - Drive to Inverness (about 30mins. ) to stop explore and have lunch for about 2hr. 15mins. - Drive to Culloden (about 15mins. ) to stop and explore the battlefield for about an 1hr. 15mins. - Drive to Clava Cairns (about 5mins. ) to stop and explore for about 40mins. - Drive back to the Port (about an hour)
