Hello there! My name is Callum and my aim is to provide you with a truly memorable time exploring the wonderful Highlands of Scotland. I was born in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, where I have lived and worked all my life. With a Macleod mother who was born on the island of Raasay between Skye and the Scottish mainland, and a Mackintosh father who was also born in Inverness, I have been steeped in the culture and history of the Highlands since birth. Having retired from a 36 year career as a high school teacher, becoming a tour guide in order to share my life-long love of the Highlands with visitors to the area was a very natural step. Specialising in tours of the Isle of Skye, the Isle of Raasay and the Loch Ness, Inverness and Culloden area, I hope to show you the very best of what the Highlands has to offer and provide you with an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. As well as the spectacular sights and breath-taking scenery, during our time together I will share my knowledge of Highland history and the myths and legends which have shaped the people and culture of this wonderful place. Each tour is planned to make the most of your time, with the day’s itinerary designed to your personal wishes and interests - a truly bespoke experience. We will travel in a comfortable and spacious SUV allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy your day, taking time to savour the unique splendour of the Highlands as well as being able to access some of the less-visited treasures of the area. Whether you wish to see stunning mountains, visit historical castles, walk amongst beautiful landscapes, hear about local history and folklore or sample a ‘wee dram’ of whisky, your tour can be tailored to meet your personal tastes. Tour days can be combined for a longer, more immersive experience of what the region has to offer. With the flexibility of a personal driver, I can collect you from your holiday accommodation, cruise ship port, train station, bus or ferry terminal either returning to your day’s starting point or taking you to your ongoing destination. Get in touch to begin planning your bespoke Highland adventure!

Beyond the city lies Culloden Battlefield, the location in 1746 of the last pitched battle fought on British soil. A few miles further on stands historical Cawdor Castle with its beautiful gardens. Travelling further back in time Clava Cairns is a fascinating 4000 year old site with prehistoric standing stones and burial chambers. For a touch of legend, we will also visit Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle with its stunning views and connections to the mythical Loch Ness Monster! Depending on the time available, this tour can be customised to your wishes with other options such as: ~ Inverness City centre with Inverness Castle and Cathedral ~ Cawdor Castle and Gardens ~ Whisky tasting at a local distillery ~ Sheepdog demonstration

Cullum's background and knowledge of the region and country made the educational portion of the tour outstanding! His warm personality allowed conversation to flow seamlessly in both directions.

If we could give Callum more than five stars, we would give him a hundred. Our one day in Inverness could not have been more perfect. Callum seamlessly wove together history, humor, breathtaking scenery, local knowledge, and wonderful conversation throughout the entire day. Somehow, without ever making us feel rushed, he managed to include two castles, Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness, a stop at a local wool and weaving shop, Clava Cairns and the standing stones, and so much more. And then there were the “hairy coos”! Callum knew how much we hoped to see these famous Highland cattle, and he made a special point of getting us close to some. It absolutely made our day and was one of those joyful, unforgettable moments we’ll be talking about for years. What made the day truly exceptional, though, was Callum himself. No question was too basic or too complicated. He answered everything with patience, insight, warmth, and an extraordinary depth of knowledge. The conversation was every bit as memorable as the magnificent places we visited. Callum is a true gentleman and an exceptional guide. He is most certainly in exactly the right role in his so-called “retirement.” We feel incredibly fortunate to have spent the day with him and cannot recommend him highly enough. An absolutely unforgettable experience.

Callum is an exceptional guide deeply rooted in Inverness and the environs. His grasp of Scottish history was impressive and he could not have been more accommodating and gracious. I would love to return and visit Isle of Skye with him. Highly recommended.
