Having qualified as a Scottish Tourist Guide for the North Highlands in 2018, I am brimming full of enthusiasm for showing visitors the delights of the Highlands, where I have lived and travelled extensively since 1997. My previous role as a charity event fundraising manager introduced me to the iconic scenery of the Highlands and developed my people and communication skills. I am also a member of a local Tourist Guide Association, which keeps me connected with the latest talks and information available. Whether you have interests in Scottish Culture, ancient castles, the sometimes bloodied history, famous wildlife, awesome geology, stunning lochs and spectacular mountains or just want to chill in one of the most unique areas in the world, off the beaten track, I would be delighted to guide you, and help create what I hope will be one of your most enjoyable and entertaining holidays. In my comfortable, roomy and air conditioned Skoda Superb Plug In Hybrid, I can driver guide for up to 3/4 people. For groups of up to 8 people, I can hire an Arnold Clarke people carrier, for an additional fee. I can also provide walking tours in the beautiful city of Inverness, where I am fortunate to live, which could be part of a day's tour. I can meet you at your accommodation near Inverness or your cruise ship in Invergordon, Ullapool or Fort William. The Highlands have been home to some amazing people and I want to share their stories with you, sample the delights of what they eat and drink and give you a taste of life in the Highlands today. You can choose one of my advertised tours, which can be adapted, taking care with the timings, or I am happy to provide bespoke tours for any "must sees" or "must dos" that you have. Several of my tours are suitable or can be adapted for wheelchair users and I am happy to design bespoke tours to help visitors with other disabilities make the most of the Highlands. Your enjoyment is my aim and with my informal, friendly and sometimes humorous approach, I want to provide an unforgettable experience in this beautiful and fascinating area, which can take your breath away! I gained my Scottish Tourist Guide Association Green Badge for North Highlands from the University of the Highlands and Islands and I'm a member of the Highlands of Scotland Tour Guide Association (HOSTGA). I have full indemnity insurance as well as an Emergency First Aid Training certificate.

Overview of your Inverness tour

You will love our circuit around Loch Ness and its breath-taking scenery. The day will be a lot of fun (if you can cope with my humour!) and my aim is to give you a wonderful experience which you will remember always! I can tell you stories around this massive stretch of water that go back hundreds of years, we can spend time in fascinating Fort Augustus with its Caledonian Canal locks designed by the world famous Thomas Telford, and stop off in Invermoriston for its lovely bridge, waterfalls and St Columba's Well. On to the iconic Urquhart Castle ruins and visitor centre, to provide you with a feast for the eyes and the soul, with its fascinating and violent history and stunning views. If time permits, we will visit Boleskine House, nestled in an ancient forest, a remarkable eighteenth century manor house, that is the “home of a thousand legends”, once home to the Frasers of Lovat. The tour will be tailored around your interests, to provide an unforgettable day!

We couldn't have asked for a better way to experience the Scottish Highlands! Our 2-day tour with Peter was thoughtfully customized around our schedule and interests, making every moment feel relaxed, seamless, and perfectly paced. The itinerary was spot-on, showing us stunning locations and vistas, taking in the beauty of Loch Ness, Portree, Ft, William, Urquhart Castle, and so much more. Peter shared meaningful details of the history and local life along the way. The food recommendations were fantastic, allowing a deeper view into local lifestyles. Peter provided first class care for us - he even guided us thoughtfully through an unexpected visit to A&E! This medical issue could have completely derailed our vacation, but Peter handled it with incredible professionalism, compassion, and efficiency. And hats off to the kind people at Broadford Hospital in Isle of Skye for providing excellent care without batting an eyelash. We highly recommend Peter! His attention to detail, flexibility, and genuine care we received made this an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a personalized tour of the Scottish Highlands with exceptional service, go with Peter. Five stars without hesitation!

Great day with Peter in the Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness and Inverness. Peter was very knowledgeable about the local history and hidden beautiful spots. He set our itinerary keeping in mind our age and handicap. In all a great day. I highly recommend Peter's company around Scotland. Sharad and Marylou Mathur

Everything we read about Peter was true, except the day with him was much better than we ever imagined. We feel like we made a new friend! He was a veritable fountain of historical information. The clarity of his descriptions, their precision, and his totally delightful disposition made for a beautiful, informative, memorable, and educational experience. You really can’t ask for more from a tour guide!
