I've lived in this area my whole life, my family have lived here for the last 300 years and my clan arrived around 500 years before that. . . but the history of these lands is older still. Join me as we share the journey. Walk with me through the 4000 year old Bronze Age chambered cairns, follow in the footsteps of the Jacobites as we learn of their rebellion, defeat and executions, immerse yourself in the myths and legends that are part of the Scots' culture and have your breath taken away by the sheer beauty of our rolling landscape. This tour is one of my favourites as we spend a day travelling within striking distance of the Highland capital city of Inverness - plenty of time for getting the craic* - yet it feels like we've travelled through the centuries with the history and stories we cover. We stop at some amazing view points and usually even manage to spot a Highland coo or two!! This tour can accommodate cruise passengers arriving into Inverness. * Gaelic for good conversation, gossip or a laugh

Just drop me a message if you'd like to change an aspect of this tour, have something different in mind altogether or would like me to inspire you based on your group's interests. • Beauly - we pass through this beautiful market town on our way up to an amazing viewpoint • Loch Ness - we travel the northern bank, giving you plenty of time to spot Nessie as well as taking photos • Urquhart Castle - stretch your legs and wander the ruins of the castle as you learn of it's bloody history • The City of Inverness - we have time in our day to wander around the city and enjoy some lunch • Clava Cairns - 4000yr old chambered burial cairns and standing stones. . . thought to have inspired the split stone in Outlander! • Culloden Battlefield - Walk with me, out onto the battlefield as I tell you how the battle unfolded or enter the new visitor centre where they transport you back to 1746 Collection and drop off points can be arranged to suit.
