Hi I’m John and I have lived in the Highlands and Islands for most of my life. I have also been involved in Scotland's tourism industry since 2006. Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of residing and working in different regions of Scotland, from the captivating Shetland Islands to the bustling cities of Edinburgh and Inverness. It's not really a job when you are visiting fantastic locations with great guests wishing to learn about our wonderful country. Scotland is a remarkable place, and I am committed to sharing its wonders with others, ensuring they have an unforgettable journey. I have been working as a private tour guide/driver since 2021. Having lived and worked across Scotland I can cover all areas of the country. I can offer not only the tours advertised but prepare a bespoke itinerary for you involving single day or multi day trips. I can collect you from your accommodation be it a Cruise Ship, Hotel or Guest House . I use a 8 seat, 7 passenger minivan which is excellent for Touring. I am an experienced driver and use my vehicle for the tours. I am fluent in English only. I am able to guide you inside historical monuments and locations.

We will do a walk around Inverness City Centre exploring the history and the fantastic natural beauty of the city including the River Ness flowing through it. A walking tour gives us the opportunity to see up close the best of the city. I am able to do 3 tours daily. Please indicate what time you prefer on booking Where possible I can do a tour at any time.

John's transfer to Inverness was a very enjoyable way to travel from Edinburgh, with lovely scenery and stops along the way. John was very friendly and knowledgeable--just a great guide. John gave us a wonderful walking tour of Inverness. He had an impressive knowledge of the city’s deep history while also sharing smaller details that really brought the area to life, like what shops and businesses used to occupy different locations throughout the years. He made the tour feel very personal and engaging, and his passion for Inverness was clear throughout. On top of that, he gave us some excellent recommendations for food and shopping that we ended up really enjoying. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a thoughtful and informative tour of the city.

We enjoyed our walk around Inverness on a lovely (overcast and spitting rain ... perfect!) Sunday AM. John shared his enthusiasm for the town.

River Ness including Cavell gardens and the suspension footbridges. Eden Court, Bishops palace. Visit to Inverness Cathedral externally.
