Jacobites Half Day Historic Tour

We found Matthew to be witty, passionate about history, cheerful and ever so creative. He has a refreshing perspective on history and tied together complex subjects into an engaging look at the past. He did a superb job of dovetailing humor and history ! We cannot recommend him highly enough.

The tour was great, but even better because of our guide, Matthew. He was very informative, had very good communication skills, was flexible as to the itinerary, and enjoyable to be with. My wife, son, daughter-in-law and I were driving to Isle of Sky from Edinburgh and decided to stay in Inverness for a night. So we registered for the afternoon "Jacobites" tour. The tour included the battle field, but also Inverness and other points of interest. Matthew was a wealth of information and anecdotes about the battle and Inverness, with suggestions for things to do there, where to eat and other points of interest. Before the day was through we had an enlightened view of Inverness and the surrounding area as well as suggestions on castles to stop at during our drive to Isle of Skye and hiking trails to explore when we arrived. Thank you for an interesting and enjoyable afternoon.

Our tour guide, Matthew, was simply fantastic! He was knowledgeable and passionate about the city’s history. He answered all our questions and added interesting anecdotes that brought the tour to life. A truly memorable experience!

Matthew was very patient with our group, and made sure we saw the highlights: highland cows, Loch Ness, the castle, the STONES. and the battlefield with brief history lesson. He had an interesting sense of humor, so we were kept engaged even while riding along.

Our tour with Matthew was amazing! We spent the entire day with him and enjoyed every minute. Matthew was extremely knowledgeable and he quickly established a personal rapport with our group. His vehicle was a very comfortable brand new luxury van. His approach was friendly and he personalized the tour for our specific interests. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Matthew as our guide. He was such fun and quite patient with us as well. We did a walk about Inverness, then Matthew drove us to Clava Cairns and Colloden. Matthew is quite knowledgeable, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company, as well as his recommendations for sites to visit the next day. He even took the extra time to email us a suggested route with Google map link so we would be all set for exploring next day. Fantastic!
