Hello there, I'm Amy—a proud native of Moray, hailing from the 'bonnie toun' of Forres. Guiding has been my passion since 2017. My touring career has taken me all over Scotland and I have travelled far and wide but I am mostly passionate about my homeland here in the Highlands. The area is immensely beautiful and steep in history and folklore. Its a place that is as exciting for local tour guides, like myself, and visitors alike. There is nowhere quite like Scotland to inspire your soul and take your breath away. The only problem I ever have on tour is that people never have enough time to explore once their heart is set alight for Caledonia. My fervent love for connecting people with our land was ignited during a transformative moment while traveling in Australia and tuning into the captivating series 'Outlander. ' It was a catalyst, awakening a yearning to reconnect with my Scottish heritage and the soul-stirring landscapes that define it. This longing led me back to Scotland, where I wholeheartedly pursued my love for guiding. Driven by a desire to weave tales and forge connections, I found solace and purpose in showcasing the beauty and heritage of Scotland—a career that resonates deeply within me. The prospect of sharing this journey with everyone fills me with boundless excitement and enthusiasm. On tour I am fuelled by a passion to unravel the mysteries of our past and bring them to life, painting vivid portraits of ancient clans, stirring tales of folklore, and the timeless allure of this rugged terrain. I am also a proud member of Clan Leslie. Join me on a journey where each step unveils a new chapter in Scotland's story, where the misty glens and craggy peaks serve as the backdrop to an immersive exploration of our heritage and traditions. Let's wander together through this land steeped in history, forging unforgettable memories along the way. Amy contacted us a couple times before the tour to confirm pickup location and alert us of weather forecast. She was 5 minutes early to pick us up at our Airbnb. The van was very clean and spacious for the 6 of us. She had water bottles with custom cozies for us. Amy is very knowledgeable of the area history and tied the Outlander story to the historical events. At Culloden we had time to tour the visitor center before she took us onto the battlefield. I noticed one particular guest lingered nearby to listen to Amy's account of the battle. We toured Cawdor Castle, not a castle noted in the Outlander series. However this castle is amazing. It's still occupied but the family will vacate during summer months to open the house to visitors. The castle has a cafe for guests to enjoy a light lunch. The soups were terrific. The tour has an audio guide included so we enjoyed the stories from the family. Amy gave us additional time to explore the gardens. As this was late spring, the flowers were on display for us. Since Amy is a seasoned guide, she managed to keep us ahead of the crowds. Throughout the day, Amy would ask thought provoking questions such as what if Bonnie Prince Charlie had not backed down from the advance to London. What if there had not been a storm to keep the French fleet away. What if the night raid the night before Culloden battle had been successful. Amy treated us to locally grown strawberries (best I've had in years) and some local candy. A nice treat to keep our blood sugar up. We had a lovely day with Amy and felt we were friends way before tour concluded. Amy made a reservation for us at a local pub with music that evening and dropped us off at the pub. She goes above and beyond the description of the tour.

If you are a geek for all things Outlander, Amy is your guide! While we were not visited by Jamie or Nessie as part of the tour, I cannot fault her for that :(. Amy deftly wove the history of the locale with her personal story and, amazingly, with the books. She even added in music and bits from the audio book which I thought gave a great additional level of depth on the tour. It was a wonderful tour!

At the time of booking tour, I do not believe Amy had any reviews but after reading her bio and seeing she worked for Rabbie's I chose Amy, and I am so happy that I did. We did the Outlander tour. The enthusiasm and love of her country is evident when Amy is sharing the Scottish history with us. I loved how she built the story for us throughout the day of everywhere we visited. She is an incredible storyteller and historian. I felt like I was in my favorite history class. You know when someone can make you see the history in your mind, they are great! Amy does just that! She kept us timely without making us feel rushed and she is a very good driver and keeps everyone safe! When I come back again, I will not hesitate to book another tour with Amy! You should too!!
