This wasn't the tour titled; rather, it was a custom/bespoke request. I had wanted to take my family to both Bamburgh and Alnwick castles, and John was extremely accommodating, and his communications leading up to the tour were prompt. He showed up the morning of the tour on time, full kilt. Transportation was comfortable, and snacks and water were available. J ohn took us to both castles and regaled us with tales of Scottish history and context. He is a passionate historian of his country. He didn't rush us and encouraged us to take in all of the things we wanted to see. In between castles, John chose a lovely restaurant for lunch, which was appreciated. He was also thoughtful in where he let us off and parked the car at the venues. I would not hesitate to recommend John to someone else for a tour, or to tour with him again!

Overview of your Edinburgh tour
Come with me on this full day tour to the Scottish Borders! I will take you to Rosslyn Chapel, home of the Holy Grail. I am sure you will wander around the Chapel and marvel at the stunning architecture. We then make our way to traquair house. The oldest enhabitted house in Scotland. From here we will also head to Melrose, another extraordinary historical site, where we will have a break for lunch. You can even choose if you prefer more surroundings of the Borders, exploring the beautiful towns and villages that the Borders has to offer, This is one of my favourite tours as we visit some of Scotland's lesser known locations. We will explore together all the history of the country. I love answering questions, and that's the reason behind I love so much being a tour guide. I look forward to meeting you on this tour for a fun packed and informative day!

What a fabulous day we had with John on his Scottish Borders Tour! John is VERY knowledgeable about all things Scottish and has a great sense of humor. Seeing the Roslyn Chapel, Traquair House and Melrose Monastary was interesting and enjoyable. We only had 2 days in Edinburgh and are very glad we spent the second day on this borders tour
John was an excellent driver and tour guide. He blended his experience with the best locations to visit with our desire to visit some cities/venues that have special meaning for us. This is a day-long tour that's well worth it, and with John's expertise (our 2nd tour with him) it was even more valuable. I especially appreciated that he was able to adjust the itinerary for our needs and interests. Be prepared for fairly long driving times through beautiful scenery. Not a problem as far as we were concerned! Five stars and more for our guide!

- Pick up from customers request 9am - We make our way to Rosslyn Chapel home of the Holy Grail. - Spend time wandering around this historical religious wonder. - From Rosslyn we head to traquair house steeped history and a jacobite strong hold. We then make our way to Melrose Abbey again we have time to walk around taking as many photos as you can then lunch. - After lunch we have a choice we can visit more of the sites and towns of the Borders. - Then we head back to Edinburgh all the time taking in the stunning views and scenery Scotland has to offer.
