This tour is unmissable if you have any interest in cities or history, just like me!. Edinburgh is truly one of Europe's most beautiful cities and I will help you fall in love with this enchanting place. The ancient medieval Old Town and grand elegant New Town are designated Unesco World Heritage Sites and we will explore both. We will walk medieval streets dating back over 500 years and see monumental sites such as Edinburgh Castle and the royal Palace of Holyroodhouse. There are also world class galleries and museums and I'll help you find artisan gifts or anything else you seek. We can even escape the city buzz with extraordinary views from Calton Hill or discover the peaceful charm of nearby tranquil Dene village. You will also learn about how natives such as Alexander Graham Bell, Adam Smith and Joseph Bell. inspiration for Sherlock Holmes, have shaped our world. I am sure, ultimately Edinburgh's extraordinary beauty and incredible variety will win your heart as it won mine!
Edinburgh's incredible variety of appeal helps ensure that we can focus on whatever you are interested in. We will explore the ancient Royal Mile, linking the cities two world famous royal residences, Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queens official royal residence! Edinburgh Castle is the Uk's second most visited paid attraction and is spectacularly sited on ancient volcanic rock. WIthin its walls we can see the Royal Palace, Great Hall, Dungeons and maybe hear the deafening One O Clock gun! We can also see historic St Giles Cathedral, mother church of Presbyterianism and home to the stunning thistle chapel. We can visit the National Museum of Scotland with and see the Lewis Chessman and Dolly the Sheep (the world's first cloned animal) and possibly visit the National Gallery. We will also get extraordinary views of the famous Old Town skyline from the elegant Georgian new town where will wander through beautiful Princes St Gardens and admire the incredible Scott Monument close up.

This is primarily a walking tour but we can catch Taxis if helpful either to save time or to help as Edinburgh is quite a hilly city, with many cobbled streets.
