Hi! I'm Derek. I became a tour guide as driving and exploring the beautiful scenery and historic sites and quaint little villages that are scattered all over Scotland excites me, and I want to pass on this joy to everyone who comes to visit Scotland. Previously as an H. G. V. Driver carrying dangerous goods (whisky included) meant that I have had to undertake intensive Advanced Driver Training which results in the knowledge that you will be in safe hands as we explore the sights on offer. My aim overall is to provide every traveler with the best experience possible on their visit to my homeland and to have them leaving as friends with memories to last a lifetime. All of my tours can be tailor to suit your needs and capabilities on request. Just contact me! My whole lifetime of living in and discovering the beauty of Scotland. I am not licensed to give tours inside any historical sites, I prefer to leave that to the professionals of each location we will visit.

Our tour stops will be suitable for everyone, ranging from ancient castles to breathtaking viewpoints. We will wander through the streets to admire the beautiful Gothic architecture and visit some of the sites that inspired the Harry Potter series. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and have your camera ready to capture the remarkable beauty that you will encounter. You have the freedom to explore at your own pace and make impromptu stops at any charming shop that catches your eye. This level of flexibility is especially valuable in the busy city, where there is much to see and do. Join me to make this tour the highlight of your trip.

Your Edinburgh tour itinerary

This is the basic structure of my tour but it can be customized to suit your preferences. Pick up at your Cruise Ship Port Deans Village - (20 minutes) Fettes and Stewart Melville College - ( drive by ) Calton Hill - ( 30 minutes ) Grassmarket - (Walkthrough) Greyfriars Bobby - (10 minutes) Edinburgh Castle or Rosslyn Chapel - (1 hour) St Giles Cathedral - (30 minutes) Drop off at your Cruise Ship Port. Entry into each site is not mandatory. You can still walk the grounds and take photos if you don't wish to enter. Entry fees are not included, however, these are not mandatory. You will still be able to explore the grounds and take photos if you don't wish to enter all locations.
