Hello and welcome to my bio. I am Edinburgh born and bred and have lived here for most of my life. After leaving the Army 20 years ago and returning to my hometown I started in the family business of taxi driving and my true love and passion for my city was released. I have spent my spare time furthering my knowledge of this amazing city and passed the Taxi Tour Guiding course. I thoroughly enjoy and love nothing more than passing on my knowledge in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. On each of my tours I like to make them informative and educational as well as fun and entertaining. This is not a coach tour. This is all about you! Do you want to take a photograph of something you like? You can. Or pop into a pub and sample some of our world famous whisky and hospitality? You can. The choice is yours completely! I will be your guide and use my local knowledge to show you places and parts of the city and Scotland as a whole that most people never get the chance to see but I would rather show you the parts that you are interested in. Being a taxi driver has allowed me the opportunity to take part in several charity trips in different cities of the UK and have been extremely fortunate to have taken part in the London to Disneyland Paris trip for terminally ill children every year since 2005. The vehicle I use is a Hyundai i800 mpv. It has exceptional interior space. I can comfortably carry 7 passengers. Not fully wheelchair accessible although there is enough space in the trunk for a folding wheelchair. My car is fully insured. Edinburgh liscensed taxi driver. Edinburgh taxi tour guide. A Relaxing and Informative Drive

This tour is one of the best ways to see a lot of Edinburgh if your time is limited and you don't want to feel rushed! We will drive around the old and new towns taking in the extensive history, characters (lovable rogues and heroes) and stunning architecture. We can also head up to the vantage points where you will be able to take in the scale of this most beautiful city. With plenty of photo opportunities and shops along the way this is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. This tour is also totally flexible and can be tailored to suit your very individual requirements. We can also take in the 15th century Rosslyn chapel (the star of Dan Browns novel the Da Vinci Code).

Neil was our tour guide today, and unfortunately the weather was terrible. Very cold, very rainy. But Neil did his very best to show us the city while keeping us as warm and dry as possible. He was very knowledgeable, personable and considerate. I was very grateful that he was so sensitive to our comfort!

If you are looking for a tour guide that knows his history, this is the one for you! We spent the day with Neil and our highlight was the tour, but more so the stories he told. He doesn't just tell you what you're looking at. He tells you the story behind it. He's such an amazing guide that makes you walk away repeating all the great stories he tells you. If you want to know the history behind the statues, roads, castles, buildings, etc., Neil is the right choice. You will not be disappointed!

Neil gave us a wonderful overview of Edinburgh. He was interesting, with lots of fun facts. The car was a taxi with seats facing forward and back, if anyone gets a little car sick facing backward. We didn't have a problem with that. He was waiting for us at the dock and got us back right on time. I would recommend him to everyone for a private, personal view of the city and area.
