On this tour, we'll first visit Segovia. Its main buildings include the Roman Aqueduct, the Gothic Cathedral, The Royal Alcázar (castle and palace), the Jewish district, and several Romanic Churches. The Romans built a magnificent Aqueduct which uninterruptedly provided water to the town for 2, 000 years, until 1973. Several buildings of Romanic and Gothic architecture were completed during the Middle Ages. The Cathedral is known as "The Lady of Cathedrals. " Its main tower is 88 metres of height It was the tallest building in Spain until the 20th century. We'll have lunch in a restaurant of your preference while being in Segovia and rest for a while before continuing with the tour. Avila has the best-preserved medieval stone walls in Europe. The cathedral was the first built in the Gothic style in Spain. Santa Teresa de Jesús, a mystic nunn of the XVII century, was born in Avila, and a convent was built over the house where she was born. Finally, I'll drive you back to Madrid.
I will pick you up at an agreed meeting point in Madrid and drive you in a rented vehicle until we arrive in Segovia and start our walking tour. Segovia: 1. Roman Aqueduct, I century AD. The best preserved in the world. 2. Medina del Campo Square, Castillian architecture. 3. Romanesque Saint Miguel Church, XII century. 4. Main Square. The main trading centre of Segovia. 5. Segovia Cathedral. The last Gothic Style Cathedral of Europe. 6. Saint Esteban Church, XII century. 7. Alcázar. Castle and Palace, historical site. 8. La Judería. The ancient Jewish quarter of Segovia. Avila: 1. Mirador del Humilladero. The best views of Avila and its magnificent walls. 2. Visit the Cathedral. 3. Walk over the medieval walls. 4.
