Hola, welcome to Madrid! My name is Mariluz and I am a fully licensed professional guide of Madrid, Toledo, Avila and Segovia. I am graduated in Tourism (University of Zaragoza) and an expert of Spanish History and Art. I am also graduated in Economics (University of Zaragoza) and in Foreign Languages at the University of Poitiers, France. Join me in this essential tour in Madrid. You'll learn about the origins of the city and experience the most "castizo" or genuine sector of Madrid. Full of narrow streets and very peculiar and unique places. We'll be walking and guided by a real madrileña. Spain was in the 16th century the most powerful country in the world. And Madrid became its capital in 1561. I'll start by guiding you at the Royal Palace, a must in Madrid. It is very well preserved and I'll explain about how was the Kings' life and point out the highlights of its decoration. The Royal Palace is still used by the Royal Family at present. We'll see the Throne Room, the Gala Dining Room, the protocole rooms feeling as "royals' ourselves just for a moment. Soon after this visit, we'll discover the beautiful places of the old district, my Madrid favourite spot: love to feel calm away from the crowded street. I 'll show you the famous and the hidden gems: you'll be back home knowing every special inch of my city!

This is a wonderful walking tour for a first time visit to Madrid. Mariluz is a very informative and engaging guide and explained to us so much of the history and customs of Madrid. We stopped in the Puerta del Sol, and the amazing Plaza Mayor as we walked around the city, and finished at the Royal Palace. The pace and interests of our small group were accommodated and enabled us to really appreciate this wonderful city.
Our family had a great time with Mariluz! She taught us so much about Madrid. She was very adaptable and informative. Highly recommend her tour!

Mariluz was a wonderful tour guide. I would not hesitate to book her again. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She made sure we saw everything we wanted to and more. She went out of her way to engage our children while still making it interesting for us. We really enjoyed it and would not have seen or fully appreciated as much without her help.
