Ávila & Segovia Private Day Tour from Madrid

Alfonso's Segovia/Avila tour may have been the best of our many tours in Spain. He is so knowledgeable, interesting, and charismatic, and he keeps you engaged the entire day from pick up to drop off. A highlight of the tour was lunch at the 300-year-old Meson Candido in Segovia, and witnessing the ceremonial blessing of the roast suckling pig by the 93-year-old owner of this national treasure. We were lucky that Alfonso was able to snag a reservation for us. Both the suckling pig and the suckling lamb were absolutely succulent. We would never have thought to experience this had we been touring alone. It was a very full day, but left us so very satisfied and thankful that we had decided to treat ourselves to a private tour. Now we are spoiled, and will probably never do group tours again! Thank you, Alfonso!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our guide, Alfonso, both during our time in Madrid and on our day trip to Segovia and Avila. Alfonso was exceptionally knowledgeable, passionate, and patient. He made every part of our experience easy, comfortable, and enjoyable. He answered all of our many questions thoughtfully and thoroughly, and his wonderful explanations brought the history, culture, architecture, and stories of Madrid and Segovia and Avila to life. What impressed us most was how attentive and considerate Alfonso was toward one member of our party who had difficulty walking. He was incredibly patient, adjusted the pace whenever needed, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and included. His genuine kindness and concern made such a difference and allowed all of us to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Whether we were exploring Madrid or discovering the magnificent historic city of Segovia and Avila Alfonso went far beyond simply showing us the sights. His passion for Spain and his ability to share his knowledge made both tours truly memorable. Alfonso is an outstanding guide — knowledgeable, passionate, patient, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. He made everything feel effortless and was always ready with a great answer to every question we asked. We are so grateful to Alfonso for making our time in Madrid and Segovia such a wonderful experience. We highly recommend him and would be delighted to have him as our guide again!

Don’t give it a second thought! This was a fantastic tour, even in the rain! Alfonso was an amazing tour guide-incredibly knowledgeable about everything and great fun to spend a day with. We highly recommend booking Alfonso for any tour you can.

We spent a month in Spain and this was our favorite day. Alfonso was knowledgeable, humorous, and took us to all the key spots and many away from the crowds. He chose a wonderful locals restaurant for lunch, helped us pick the right dishes, and was an amazing host all day.
