Half day tour of Madrid with a real local guide

Mayte is a top notch guide! Our group of five had a delightful four hours touring Old Madrid and the Royal Palace with Mayte. There are many positives to share-too many really to share. It was evident from the start that she has an extensive knowledge of the history of Madrid; indeed all of Spain’s long history. We moved at a comfortable pace and covered many historical sights. Mayte is willing to adjust her tour to accommodate your specific interests. That is a big plus. She also can adapt the route if necessary due to events beyond her control. Plaza Major was closed because of a celebration and she quickly adjusted our route with ease, regardless of some street closures. Mayte has a calm demeanor, yet with a very good wit. We really enjoyed her tour and highly recommend Mayte as a guide for Old Madrid/Royal Palace. ( I believe she also gives tours of the Prado.) Note: You will need to buy your own tickets to the Royal Palace. She is very clear about this. She can guide you on what time to buy them for. My hint is do not wait to buy those tickets because they sell out quickly!

Julia is a wonderful tour guide. She is very knowledgeable of Spanish history and culture. We had a great tour of el Alcazar and the cathedral. She also showed us around Seville and gave great recommendations on places to eat and shop.

Mayte is an excellent tour guide who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had her for two days and she mixed visits with various neighborhoods, churches, Prado museum and Royal Palace. She was incredibly insightful at the Royal Palace and Prado Museum providing perspective and historical context and while touring the various neighborhoods, gave insights to architecture, history and current events. I highly recommend her. She is very versatile.
