I am originally from Amsterdam in Holland, but have lived in Barcelona for almost 25 years, so I combine an international perspective with deep local knowledge. I have a masters in Spanish and the History of Spain. I also lecture in various masters programs on Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy around Europe. Overview of your Barcelona tour
Located in the heart of Barcelona lies the Golden Quarter of Barcelona (Esquerra de Eixample), a gem waiting to be discovered and home to many of the city's most important architectural landmarks, art and local restaurants unknown to most tourists. We start with a visit of a local food market followed by a walk through the Eixample neighborhood where we marvel at the most beautiful and important works of Gaudí on the emblematic Paseo de Gracia - such as the Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. We will take a stroll along the elegant street of the district where we will see intricate facades, colorful mosaics and innovative designs that define Catalan modernism. During the tour we will stop to sample food and drinks in authentic places unknown to most tourists and you will learn about tapas and the Mediterranean cuisine. The tour price does NOT include food and drinks.
