Explore Pamplona your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Pamplona tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Pamplona for every interest, including:

Museums tours: Compare Roman mosaics and medieval art at the Museo de Navarra, then switch to contemporary works at the University of Navarra Museum or add a short hop to the Oteiza Museum in Alzuza for sculpture in a hilltop setting.

History tours: Walk the bastions and ramparts of the old walls, trace the Encierro route from Santo Domingo to the bullring, and visit the cathedral’s cloister to hear how Pamplona sat on the Camino de Santiago.

Off The Beaten Path tours: Follow the Arga River greenway to Rochapea to spot street art and quiet gardens, step into a neighbourhood frontón to catch a casual pelota match, or visit a local sagardotegi on the outskirts to taste cider with cod omelette like a regular.

Getting around: The old town is very walkable and city buses are frequent; for outlying museums or a cider house, ask your guide about a tour with private transportation or a chauffeured car.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Pamplona inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Pamplona

From Pamplona, quick day trips connect you to beach cities, medieval towns, and Pyrenees valleys, and your tour can lean into food, hiking, or history without a long drive.

- San Sebastián (Donostia): Taste pintxos in the Old Town, stroll La Concha promenade, and ride up for broad bay views, a simple mix of food and seaside time that works in any season.

- Olite/Erriberri: Climb the Royal Palace towers and wander stone lanes lined with wine bars, then fold in a Navarra vineyard visit if you want a short, focused tasting built into the day.

- Foz de Lumbier and Foz de Arbayún: Walk easy riverside paths beneath soaring limestone walls while watching griffon vultures, an active but low‑stress outing that pairs well with a stop in a nearby village for lunch.

- Roncesvalles and the Pyrenees: See the collegiate church at the Camino de Santiago gateway, add forest walks for mountain air and views, and balance history with time under the beech trees.

- Javier Castle and Leyre Monastery: Link a hilltop fortress with Romanesque cloisters and lake overlooks, a compact route for architecture fans that still leaves room for a scenic drive through small valleys.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Pamplona most travellers miss.
