Ola! My name is Pedro and I was born and raised just outside of Lisbon, in a little town by the name of Sintra. This town was my first contact with the history of my country, at a very young age. Its beauty fascinated me so much that I became a tour guide, and now I can share what this country and culture has to offer you! In the present, I still travel a lot, sometimes professionally and other times leisurely. I'm a very engaging, helpful person, and I have an energetic nature. I'm also a passionate about nature itself, which led me to become a mountain biker. I love to spend time on my bike, while enjoying trails and the forest of Sintra. I also appreciate life's simple things, like a dinner out with friends or a glass of red wine. Certified guide SNATTI 4988 Can't wait to share all this with you! The idea of this tour is to show you a little bit more than just the capital city. Be amazed with the energy of our biggest Marian Sanctuary, assist the mass or just walk around the sanctuary. Visit Batalha Monastery, one of the highest expressions of the Gothic in Portugal. From the cloisters to the chapels, this monastery is one of a kind. Followed by a visit to Nazaré, it's time for lunch! Big fishermen community, they bring fresh options everyday to our restaurants! Nazaré is also known for their giant waves! Come along and learn more about the canyon! After lunch, we visit the medieval town of Óbidos! Unique, picturesque, colorful and full of heritage to visit!
After the pick up, we drive for approximately 1h30 to the first stop. Fátima's Sanctuary. Learn more about this sanctuary founded on the 20th century that attracts thousands of pilgrims every year as well as high representatives of the catholic church. After Fatima, we drive another 30 mins to visit Batalha Monastery. This is no ordinary monastery, it's the symbol of portuguese resilience and strength in defending our country! Full of history, this construction stands there from the 14th century. Now it's time to relax! we'll get back on the car and drive to Nazaré, where the giants waves can be spotted. Unfortunately the waves can't be seen every day but I ensure you the fish, is fresh and delicious every single day! Time to say goodbye and drive to Óbidos. The medieval town stands on the top of the hill, surrounded by a beautiful wall that will give you the most stunning views! Also known for it's Ginja liquor made out from the best sour cherries planted in the region. From here we drive back to Lisbon.
