Miquel V was a terrific tour guide. He had a great grasp on the history of Portugal, seems to love his job and generously shares context and perspective. He is very open, engaging and lively. We hit a couple of snags on our plans, all out of his control, but he was able to adapt and pivot the plan so that we could have an extraordinary day visiting Sintra and the beautiful grounds of the Peña Palace, Cabo Da Roco and a drive through Cascais. Miguel is deeply entrenched in the community and culture of this region, so going for lunch was a high point in Sintra. We were warmly greeted by the restaurant owner and staff, and experienced delicious Portuguese food and amazing wine. The day was unforgettable. Thank-you Miguel V.

We enjoyed our tour with Miguel today. Pena Castle was very interesting, but we enjoyed more seeing the Quinta da Regaleira with Miguel. What an amazing setting! Miguel knows the many layers of symbolism of the whole estate. We also enjoyed his insider knowledge of Sintra! Traveling there with a local resident was very special. We had a fantastic lunch and learned a lot about the history and contemporary issues of living in such a heavily visited location. We had a great time with Miguel for Sintra. Before the trip, he was extremely responsive and helped me make sure I booked the right tour, has the right meeting spots and we bought the right tickets. During the day, Miguel was right on time, very knowledgeable and had a great plan as to where to spend time and where to meet him, especially given how narrow the streets are and challenging the driving. We were delighted to have Miguel and would highly recommend his tour.
