Hello! My name is Filipa and I am a Certified Tour Guide in Lisbon and its surroundings. Living in such a beautiful city has led my parents to impart me with principles of valorization of heritage and history from a very young age, probably having taken me to every museum and palace there was to be visited! I went back to University to "conquer" my Master's Degree in Strategic Management of Tourism Destinations, which has instilled me with even more insight on destinations, tour planning and management. Both my academic and professional experience have given me awareness of my role as leader, interpreter and mediator between the tourists and the destinations. Therefore, I take my profession very seriously whilst showing a lot of passion for what I do. Overview of your Lisbon tour
Every year, in December and beginning of January iconic neighborhoods of the city of Lisbon are adorned with dazzling displays. The lights are complemented by holiday markets, creating a vibrant atmosphere. On this tour we will start at Avenida da Liberdade, one of the most magnificent avenues of the city of Lisbon - oftentimes compared to the Parisien Champs Élysées. Once we get to Baixa (downtown), we'll be surrounded by historical buildings dating back to the 18th century which were built after Lisbon's earthquake in 1755. Just like a Pheonix, we'll see how Lisbon also rose from the ashes. We will walk up Chiado, renowned for its blend of historic elegance and vibrant culture, inviting visitors to explore its boutiques, cafés, and cultural landmarks. This tour will end in Bairro Alto, characterized by its narrow, cobbled streets and colorful buildings which are adorned with twinkling decorations that cast a warm glow over the lively atmosphere.
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
·We will walk down Avenida da Liberdade and Restauradores square. ·Then, we will stroll through the streets of the downtown area, focusing on the most impressive squares and Lisbon's triumphal arch (Rossio and Commerce square). ·After that we'll reach Chiado, where we'll see some of the oldest stores of the city of Lisbon, namely the oldest operating bookstore in the world! ·We will end the tour at a viewpoint in Bairro Alto where we will be able to see the castle from. This itinerary could be customized upon request.
