Depart from Lisbon on a private journey through northern Portugal, combining history, culture, and remarkable landscapes. Our first stop is Coimbra, home to Portugal’s oldest university (1291) and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a guided visit inside the university, discovering traditions and stories most visitors miss. We then continue to Porto for a relaxed panoramic tour highlighting the riverfront, bridges, and historic districts. The following day is dedicated to the breathtaking Douro Valley, a UNESCO-listed landscape and the world’s oldest demarcated wine region (1756). Surrounded by terraced vineyards, enjoy a unique regional lunch with local products, wines, and Port. In the afternoon, visit Lamego and the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, famous for its monumental Baroque staircase. We also stop in Braga, the “city of archbishops,” to see its cathedral, Bom Jesus do Monte, and historic funicular. On the return to Lisbon, stroll through Aveiro, the charming “Portuguese Venice.”
