Hello my name is Andreia and I'm a licensed tour guide since 2009. I also have a master's degree on Portuguese Modern History and the Discoveries. Besides my passion for Portugal as my homeland, I have a big interest also on photography, food, vintage, Japan and South Korea. Lisbon is a former capital of a big empire dating back to the 16th century; although it suffered with a big earthquake in 1755, it is a very old city, and the influence of the several peoples that passed by can be felt around every corner. With me you'll be able to walk through the different areas of Lisbon or if you need a more comfortable option, I can also provide a car along with my expertise so that everyone has a chance to see the city. But if you need to get to know other parts of Lisbon, we can also get a car and explore Sintra, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage Site! My tours are standard, but If there is a particular side of Lisbon that you'd like to see let me know and I will try to adapt to it and make it more appealing to you. A tour for first timers! Get to know the main points of the center of Lisbon in this walking tour. It's a family and friends favorite, since lots of portuguese like to hang out, snack, and do some shopping together. We'll be visiting the main areas such as the historical quarter of Bairro Alto, the shopping district of Chiado (where gorgeous pastry shops are located, if you wish to sample something), the center of commerce dating back to the Discoveries, and the historical quarter of Alfama, the heart of Lisbon itself. Bring your camera as good shots will be around every corner! Did you know that a big earthquake in 1755 destroyed a big part of the city? But in Alfama you can still find houses that survived this tragedy. . .
Andreia is a fantastic guide. We throughly enjoyed our 1/2 walking tour of Lisbon. She is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and fun. We enjoyed her commentary on Lisbon's history and culture. We also appreciated all of the shortcuts that allowed us to climb up hills with minimal effort. It was a great morning!

Very nice and enjoyed her company. Very knowledgeable. Showed us places we could go back to. We had a great walk- as we like walking. Went thru 4 districts. In Alfama would have liked to have stopped at the small sandwich place.
Two of us had an excellent experience walking with Andrea through the old historic centre of Lisbon. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, perfect English and the route was mostly downhill or flat with a few short inclines. Overall we enjoyed this tour very much
