Hence, nothing makes me happier than combining these great loves of mine to create an authentic Dutch experience for you! Tall, blonde, and a big cheese lover, that's me! As you can probably tell, I was born and bred in the Netherlands (the Hague to be precise) and I moved to Amsterdam 8 years ago. It was always my dream to live in the Dutch capital, and I can't wait to show you my reasons why. I'm a History graduate of the University of Leiden (the oldest university in the Netherlands) and I finished my Masters in Arts and Culture. My specializations are Dutch history and Dutch paintings from the 17th century (the Dutch Golden Age). If you want to experience the glory days of Amsterdam, then I recommend the Amsterdam 17th century tour. This tour includes a visit to a classic Dutch house, a picturesque walk alongside the historic canals, and a stop at the amazing Rijksmuseum, which is our national gallery. However, if you prefer to discover some hidden gems in this thriving city, I can take you on the "Amsterdam: Behind-the-Scenes tour. This off-the-beaten-path tour will entail a visit to the Jordaan area, where you can peruse peaceful courtyards, discover a secret passageway, and catch a glimpse of not-yet-discovered islands. The tours that I offer are created from my point of view so that that you walk away with a richinsight into the Dutch culture and everything else my beautiful country has to offer. Sharing and creating stories is the red thread in my life. I started with tour guiding more than 10 years ago and I'm still loving every minute of it. My wife and I wanted a walking tour of beautiful Amsterdam. Especially, the canal area and to see it all lit up after dark. However, we wanted someone local to walk us around and give us some history of the area. Based on reviews, we decided to go with Timm. We booked a 2 hour walking tour with her. She was very knowledgeable, spoke perfect English (and Dutch) and was very comfortable to be with. She communicated with us ahead of time and we discussed a preliminary agenda. We covered a lot of areas within the two hours including a drink stop at a really cool local bar. We were interested in learning about the red light district as well. She explained the history as well as the current culture. But Timm showed us other unique areas and history that we were not even aware of. We felt very informed, educated, and safe. I would highly recommend Timm to friends and family. Excellent tour! 5-stars!!

We had a wonderful time touring the Red Light District with Timm! She was, of course knowledgeable about “the windows” and those who offer their services from within, but also about the history of this neighborhood, which is the oldest in all of Amsterdam. The best part, however, was simply that Timm is so incredibly personable! We had toured the tulip fields with her earlier in the day (also a terrific experience) and Rimm gave us a couple of great suggestions for dinner. Before the Red Light tour she rode her bike across the city to meet us in Rembrandt Square, then guided us did to the District and back to our hotel with commentary the whole way! Timm represents the welcoming spirit of Amsterdam perfectly. Highly recommended!
