Hiya! How are you? My name is Timm and my two biggest passions are history and Amsterdam. Hence, nothing makes me happier than combining these great loves of mine to create an authentic Dutch experience for you! Tall, blonde, and a big cheese lover, that's me! As you can probably tell, I was born and bred in the Netherlands (the Hague to be precise) and I moved to Amsterdam 8 years ago. It was always my dream to live in the Dutch capital, and I can't wait to show you my reasons why. I'm a History graduate of the University of Leiden (the oldest university in the Netherlands) and I finished my Masters in Arts and Culture. My specializations are Dutch history and Dutch paintings from the 17th century (the Dutch Golden Age). If you want to experience the glory days of Amsterdam, then I recommend the Amsterdam 17th century tour. This tour includes a visit to a classic Dutch house, a picturesque walk alongside the historic canals, and a stop at the amazing Rijksmuseum, which is our national gallery. This off-the-beaten-path tour will entail a visit to the Jordaan area, where you can peruse peaceful courtyards, discover a secret passageway, and catch a glimpse of not-yet-discovered islands. The tours that I offer are created from my point of view so that that you walk away with a richinsight into the Dutch culture and everything else my beautiful country has to offer. Discover the charm of the Jordaan, one of Amsterdam’s most picturesque neighbourhoods. Once a 17th‑century working‑class district, it’s now full of beautiful canal houses, boutique shops, hidden courtyards and a lively, authentic atmosphere. It’s also one of my favourite areas, and because I live nearby, I can show you the Jordaan the way locals experience it — from my favourite streets and cafés to unique spots most visitors miss. We’ll also explore the Westerlijke Eilanden, a quiet, off‑the‑beaten‑path area with old warehouses, peaceful canals and a creative vibe. Perfect for travellers who want to go beyond the obvious highlights and discover a more local, character‑filled side of Amsterdam.

Timm was really flexible with our various needs and is a very enthusiastic person explaining sights as well as cultural aspects of Amsterdam. We really enjoyed the tour and could have continued for ours with her.
Timm was wonderful ! We have children ages 8, 11 and 13 and she geared the pace and information just right to keep all children and parents engaged and going on a hot day in Amsterdam. She even knew when energy was flagging and when to stop for a snack. She showed us lots of little aspects of history and architecture that were fascinating. I highly recommend a tour with her and wish I could have her in every city!
This is a 5 Star Rating. I gave Timm very little to work with and everyone in our party rated her "Outstanding". We met at the Rijks, I had the wrong location, she hustled to our location and developed a tour for us of Amsterdam and the Jordaan area. Art, history, pop, architecture, modern life in the Netherlands filled our route. She is very experienced with a wonderful sense of humor. The afternoon was similar to having a very knowledgeable friend guide you around their private garden! Book it!
• The Jordaan is well known to many tourists for its cosy restaurants, markets, hip bars, many bridges and romantic streets. Little do most people, including the Amsterdammers themselves know about the hidden courtyards! These real hidden gems are an oasis in the middle of the thriving city. • Another spot that most people haven't been, are the Westerlijke Eilanden. These three islands are connected to the mainland now, but have a totally different vibe than the rest of the city. All my tours can be customized upon request
