Welkom! I'm Hans, a true Dutchman and tourism professional since 2010. In 2025, I earned my taxi-drivers license, which means I obey all the Dutch laws, when it comes to guiding and driving you safely through the Netherlands. Together we discover the most beautiful places in the Dutch countryside, as new friends. I live in Rotterdam, where I was born and raised. After 32 years teaching at an elementary school, I decided it was time for a change and became a tour guide. During my working years in The Netherlands, I travelled a lot. From 1980 I travelled to different countries outside Europe. Since 2010 I am guiding groups in especially India, but also Nepal and Bhutan. And since 2022, after Covid, I have been working as a private guide in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is such a beautiful country and I love to explore it with you. The green meadows with cows and above it the Dutch blue skies with some clouds. Just like a 17th-century Dutch painting. In springtime decorated with the most amazing colors of blooming flower fields, yellow daffodils, red tulips, white fragrant hyacinth fields. It's a beautiful scenery that you can't see anywhere else. Place a few windmills there and you have the perfect Dutch landscape. To make sure people can still fall in love with the Dutch countryside in the future, I offer my tours sustainably. We travel off the trotted (and often harmful) tourist paths, try to reduce CO2 and when not possible compensate the emissions. Overview of your Amsterdam tour
I will pick you up from your accommodation in Amsterdam in a comfortable vehicle. For most part of our drive, we'll cross the province Flevoland. This land is created out of the former Zuiderzee and I'll tell you why and how this was done. In Spring season it has some of the largest tulip fields of the country. Upon arrival in Giethoorn, you'll be greeted by the tranquil atmosphere and idyllic surroundings of this enchanting car-free village. Embark on a small private boat or covered public boat tour (depending on your preference) of Giethoorn's picturesque canals, propelled by an electric motor, ensuring a serene and eco-friendly experience. Relax as you glide along the tranquil waterways, marveling at the charming thatched-roof cottages, lush greenery, and quaint bridges that adorn the village. After the canal cruise we'll find a nice place for lunch and there is some time to explore the town on foot. On route back to Amsterdam there is time for 1 extra stop of your choice. One driver seats and four passenger seats. The middle back seat is a little smaller.
