Hello! I am Arun, and am ready to offer you an unique experience in Amsterdam. I am a historian and an award-winning sports writer with a fascination for reading, art, history, culture and cuisine. I love meeting people from different parts of the world, and creating memories for them. When people travel, they are full of curiosity, eagerness to enjoy and bonhomie. In short, they are full of positive energy. I love touching their lives at that precise moment and sharing the joy and happiness of discovery that comes with touring. I have lived and worked around the world but decided to make Amsterdam my home. Golden Age canals lined by quaint gabled buildings, fascinating museums, treasure-packed shops, a vibrant design and art scene, endless choices of culinary delights, history eloquent in every brick, the lure of the Red Light District . . . and, last but not the least, the fascinating getaways into the heart of nature if you know your way around town and outskirts. It is a city I have fallen in love with and can make you fall in love with as well. Whether it is biking like locals, wandering around the quaint canals and the narrow alleys, taking a peek behind the great masterpieces of Rembradnt and Van Gogh, tasting local delicacies, learning how the Red Light District works, or getting away from the busy center to visit Windmills and other countryside attractions, I can arrange it for you. There are plenty of attractions off the beaten track, from secret courtyards to James Bond filming locations. Throbbing city center, delightful museums, offbeat locales, countryside excursions. I can customize the tour in whichever way you want. See you in Amsterdam. You will love the experience. Tot ziens. -Municipality Licence for touring in Old Amsterdam -Published Author of Historical fiction -Published Author of non-fiction (history) with a pair of international award shortlists -Award Winning Sports Writer -Art and History Buff

Albert Cuyp Market is perhaps the most eclectic and most interesting street market you can come across. This is a must visit in Amsterdam, where you can get delicious food, exotic stalls selling everything from clothes and bags to fish and vegetables to mementos and souvenirs to flowers and jewellery to items that fit no definition. It is also symbolic of Amsterdam's multiculturalism, a melting pot of people, products, cuisine, culture and languages. We will walk through this colourful market, tasting delicacies of Dutch and other food on the way. We will also pop in at a very traditional Dutch restaurant for a local beer, a hole in the wall Surinamese place with the most delicious food, and visit a couple of historic places before ending at the beautiful Museumplein. (vegetarian and non-alcoholic options available)
Meet at one end of the Market. Visit a Surinamese outlet which looks small but is the most popular among foodies. We will have a delicious dish here that will almost always be a very novel experience. We will walk through the market talking about the history of the place and stop at different stalls to taste the delicious Dutch bites - sprinkling a bit of foreign flavours along the way. We will stop at a Cheese stall that has been there for over 80 years, and have a platter exclusively made for us by the very friendly owner. We will make a slight detour at the Sarphatipark Bitterballen, kaastengels, Kibbeling, stroopwafel. . . and after covering the market we will end at a traditional Dutch lunchroom to taste the famous applepies and a delicious Dutch beer. We will walk a short distance and end at the beautiful Museum square. (non-alcoholic and vegetarian alternatives available)
