Hello! My name is Fer and I am your Tour Guide, visual artist and researcher, passionate about the beautiful things that make my country unique, such as art, handicrafts, local markets and food. My passions are diverse, although closely related to having a good time in this world such as travelling, embracing different languages, art and culture, plus helping and meeting people from all over the world, like you! I have been guiding and designing tours and experiences for more than 6 years in Mexico City. I also worked for an American travel company designing new tour experiences for them. It all started when I completed my Master's Degree and decided to share my culture. I think Mexico City is one of the most interesting cities in the world to visit because of its diversity, architecture, multiple museums, city history, and a globally renowned culinary scene. All my tours are safely and comfortably designed for you and aim at exciting you, especially becase I have already tasted and done everything I propose in them myself before. Anyway, you are also always welcome to ask me anything if you need help to come up with your own one-of-a-kind customized tour. I would be very happy to hear from you soon!

Overview of your Mexico City tour

On this tour, we will visit one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and other culturally significant locations in Mexico City, plus listen to traditional music and taste local food. Xochimilco is famous for its floating gardens, known as "chinampas" which were created by the Aztecs. These artificial islands were used for agriculture millennia ago, and are still used today. Also, Xochimilco has a rich cultural heritage, dating back to the Aztec and pre-Aztec periods. It's considered the oldest continuously inhabited area in Mexico City. The canals and floating gardens of Xochimilco are an essential part of the city's ecosystem, providing a habitat for various plant and animal species. Overall, Xochimilco is a unique and fascinating place that offers a glimpse into Mexico's rich history, culture, and natural beauty.

We had a large group and she was able to handle us all with ease. We we're able to tour the cathedral nearby as well as the market. We were also able to taste a lot of different local cuisine. The boat ride was great and very interesting. I would highly recommend this tour!

Fernanda was a delightful guide. She gave us a fantastic tour of Xochimilco, which included the church, the amazing market, and a peaceful canal. Most wonderful were the unique and delicious food items she shared with us at the market - things you can’t find elsewhere in CDMX. We highly recommend Fernanda.

Fernanda is very positive and always smiling, and it felt completely natural to spend two days with her. She took our family of four around Mexico City for two days. We visited local markets and tasted foods we never would have discovered on our own. Fernanda has extensive historical knowledge and guided us through many of the city’s most important historical monuments. We got around using Uber, which worked very well. We can highly recommend a tour with Fernanda.

What an excellent tour and a lovely day trip. Fernanda tailored the tour to my interests, which included the cathedral, the markets, and - of course - a tour of the canals and chinampas. Fernanda is knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic and very kind.

Your Mexico City tour itinerary

·The tour will begin at one of Mexico City's oldest churches, San Bernardino de Siena. ·Next, we'll head to the Xochimilco market, where we'll come across beautiful flowers and local delicacies being offered. ·If you'd like, we could have breakfast in the market, or simply pass by one of the venues to get some beverages to take with us to the boat we'll get on next. ·We'll proceed to get on board the Trajinera, where we'll greet its conductor and depart into the lake. ·As we sail through the canals, we'll come across beautiful floating gardens, and we may even see Mariachis along our way! ·If you'd like, we could also step off our boat for a while, so you can experience what it feels like to be on a chinampa, where you could even taste some traditional drinks! ·If you dare, we could also approach a doll island, and I'll tell you about the myths that surround it. ·At last, we'll return to where we departed from, finishing our tour.
