The historic Downtown of Mexico City which hold the name of UNESCO site is full with history. It is a time traveling experience to visit it. And the best way to get immerse into the place is visiting it on foot. The Alameda Park the first Urban Park built in Mexico and Latinamerica holds one of my favorite buildings, The Fine Arts Palace with its unique marvel outside is hard to miss it. Just by turning around you will get to see a bunch of different buildings perfect examples of how the city has changed thru the years. Plaza Tolsa has 3 more jewels that are a must when visiting this neighborhood, and since this area was started to be populated by the Aztecs we will even get to see the ruins of this Empire right next to a Catholic Cathedral. Some streets are narrow so we will walk mainly on the pedestrian street known as Madero, to get to the largest plaza in Latinamerica known by locals as The Zocalo. You will be amazed by all the different architecture styles just a few feet away from each other.
Suggested itinerary: • pick up at your hotel • transfer to the Fine Arts Palace (30 min) • National Museum of Art • Walk down Madero Street • arrival to the Zocalo • overview from Mayor Temple. • walk thru Tacuba street •total time walking approx. ( 2/3 hrs) • transfer back to your hotel (30 min)
