Coyoacan and Xochimilco - - Mexico City Full Day Tour

One of my favorite places is Coyoacan, a former colonial village, located in the south of the city, because it still has its own identity, with narrow colonial-era streets, plazas, cafes, and a lively bohemian atmosphere. We will walk along Coyoacan's main square, churches, and beautiful historic buildings. I will then take you to visit Frida Kahlo's home, where she was born, lived much of her life, and eventually died. The house is a treasure trove, not only of her paintings but also of innumerable artifacts associated with her and her husband, famous muralist Diego Rivera. We will drive a few kilometers to reach the wonderful floating gardens of Xochimilco, which were once connected by a causeway to the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, now Mexico City, and where the Aztecs grew much of their food. We will navigate the canals on board of a typical 'trajinera', a small boat decorated with flowers, and will discover how Aztec life was before the conquest.

• We will begin our tour in Coyoacan neighborhood, where we can admire the beautiful church of San Juan Bautista; we will continue to the typical and colorful local market. • Next, we are going to the Frida Kahlo museum to admire her paintings and personal items. • Then, we will continue to the floating gardens of Xochimilco.
