Don't miss the chance to visit two of the most famous and well preserved cities around Mexico city area. Puebla is the 4th largest city in Mexico but despite it's size it has an impressive heritage of colonial buildings in downtown, Cholula is the oldest city that has been inhabited continuously in the continent, since around 500 BC.
Mario provided me a way to visit Puebla on a short stay in Mexico City. His English is very good and his knowledge of the history, peoples, and culture was wide ranging. It was unique chance to see a city and region I might not have reached otherwise. The site of The Battle of Puebla was fascinating with a very good but small museum.
Mario was a knowledgeable and friendly guide. I enjoyed our trip to Puebla and Cholula.
This is a very long — but very good — tour day. We returned to Mexico City 11 hours after we left in the morning. But I wouldn't have changed anything. Puebla is a beautiful place, with much to see (probably worth an overnight), and we were thrilled to be able to walk through the Cholula tunnels. Mario is informed, very helpful (he went out of his way to find an antique store that sold old sheet music) and excellent company. We learned a lot.
Mario was very knowledgeable about Mexico's history and architecture. He showed us all landmarks on this tour. He was very conscious about our needs.
