See his own style and understand the essence of beauty, inspiration, serenity, mystery, silence and privacy; principles that were important for Barragan as fundamental base for his architecture. Be stroke by colors that give brilliant spaces that profile the figures within the optic field. Barragan created a "sacred precinct", an interior space of the chapel in which measure, proportion, light and color combine to form a place of emotion, prayer and faith. The convent and chapel are in excellent condition, thanks to the constant attention of the nuns. Jardines del Pedregal was one of Barragan's greatest creations, which provoked a radical change in the design of new urban developments. With the Prieto Lopez house, Barragan consolidated a modern language of traditional Mexican architecture.
This tour with, Monica, was wonderful. We even had some time to walk up the street and visit the small square near the Chapel. The visit to Casa Pedregal was lovely, and the lunch we had in the adjoining building (apparently the old stables), was delicious. Monica was a lovely host, well informed and always wanted to make sure that I had a great experience.

Monica was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about Barragan and his contemporaries, as well as other Mexican architects and artists. We saw the Casa Barragan and Casa Gilardi, but wish we had planned to spend the day to go out to see the stables and other works. We definitely recommend her!
Monica was a wonderful guide for our tour of Casa Gilardi and Cuadra San Cristobal. Monica's friendship with the owner Martin Luque and family allowed for a wonderful conversation which made the visit all the more delightful.
Our second Tour with gorgeous Monica. This one I just LOVED! So much beauty in such simple design. I want to move into Luis Barragans Casa! Again Monica was so informative and I loved how much delight she showed in opening every magical door and window for us. A highlight was meeting the lovely Martin Luque one of the original owners of Casa Gilardi. He could not have been more charming. An amazing day that will stay with us forever.
Monica's own appreciation and understanding of the work of Barragan really made this tour exceptional. The visits to the Capilla del las Capuchines, the Galardi Home, and Casa Barragan were excellent. Monica's English is outstanding and we really enjoyed our conversations with her about Barragan and other Mexican architects and artists, and she also pointed out many sights of interest to us along the way. We are looking forward to our next trip to DF and having Monica as our guide. Highly recommended!
