I am the kind of guy who walks at the beach and waits patiently for the sunset. I love reading mystery novels but Mexican history is my passion. I play the electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and a little bit of piano, when I was younger I had my own rock band, and indeed one of the best times of my life. I've been working in the tourism industry for over 27 years, 20 of them in customer service at a mexican major airline company, at Mexico's City International Airport and I can tell you that I loved it!. One of my passions is knowing people from all over the world. 14 years ago in 2012 I started studying "History" in order to become a Tour Guide I fell in love with it immediately so I decided to specialize myself on the pre-columbian cultures of the center of Mexico which is part of my actual touring expertise. In time I got to know the “Nahua Culture”, which is one of the most well-known native cultures from Mexico (the Aztecs were Nahuas), so I decided to learn how to speak their ancient language “Nahuatl”, a thing that I've been doing since 2017, I have to say that learning this has been very difficult but it's worth it. After finishing my studies I started delivering part time tours but after a while I decided to quit my old job at the airline to become a full time tour guide, sounds crazy but you got to know that this was the best decision in my entire life! You may notice now that if I worked at an airline, I'm the kind of guy that loves to travel and you're not mistaken I'm really into it, not just out of my country but inside it too, this is why I can tell you that Mexico's got everything for doing tourism, especially Mexico City, here we have great food, ambiance, great culture and lot of places to visit, for example: Do you like Mariachi music? We have Garibaldi. Do you like nature walking? We have Chapultepec forest. Do you like eating traditional food? We have lots and lots of markets, especially at Coyoacan. Do you like religious touring? We have Basilica of lady Guadalupe and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Do you like old architecture? We have downtown Centro Histórico. Do you like coffee shops and mezcalerias? We have La condesa neighborhood. This is just the beginning, just a small taste of what Mexico City's got to offer. Do you want more? Well, what about visiting Puebla or Cholula just 85 miles from the city, there you will find beautiful landscapes and of course a lot of churches and cathedrals from the XVI century. Want to try something different? What about visiting thermal waters at “Las grutas de Tolantongo” just 125 miles away from the city. Looking for ancient archaeological sites? You can't miss The Holy City of Teotihuacan (UNESCO World Heritage since 1987) This is a must! So Mexico City has everything waiting just for you and you can count on me for touring it. Wanna try one of my pre-made tours for visiting the pyramids? The National Museum of Anthropology? Basílica de Guadalupe? Tolantongo? What are you waiting for! I'm willing to give you the best experience ever when visiting Mexico City, just contact me. See you at this fantastic place. Hector. First time at Mexico? This walking tour will help you to know and understand the prominent historical data of this country. Have you ever wonder: why the symbols? why the animals? why the "odd" artifacts? For the pre-Columbian cultures Cosmology was everything. We'll visit the National Museum of Anthropology, there you'll listen to an explanation while admiring beautiful ceramic figurines, pottery vessels, monoliths, figures carved on stone, murals, old wall paintings and lots of other ancient artifacts discovered around Mexico's archaeological sites. I'm a certified tour guide with special studies on Pre-Columbian Cultures & History of Mexico (XIX. C. ) Please refer to my credentials for more information.

Hector is a fountain of knowledge, we had the best tour with him through the Museum of Anthropology. He distilled some very detailed and complicated topics into easily understandable and digestible nuggets of information that we were able to apply throughout the rest of our trip. We would highly recommend a tour with Hector and will be rebooking the next time we’re in Mexico City!

Our entire party spoke of this as a highlight of our trip! I strongly recommend this tour if your desire is to learn more about the history and culture of pre-Hispanic México. Hector, our guide, was prompt, accommodating, and very friendly. Through Hector, we got to experience what would have otherwise been a hidden facet of the buildings, sculpture, and ceremonial items. The tour was insightful and enjoyable and it enabled us to recognize the use of symbols in art and architecture. This impact extending well beyond our tour. The insights Hector shared left a positive impact on the rest of our trip to Mexico City. We were consistently able to recognize the symbolism of the Mexica people in murals, at Teotihuacan, and even in the art of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. I am so glad we booked this tour. I wish we had done it on our first day.

Hector is second to none. We had several tours during this trip to CDMX. Hector’s tour was by far the top one. I highly recommend Hector. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has a very unique and accurate historical perspective. In addition, Hector is one of the most pleasant human beings you will meet in CDMX.

Hector knows his stuff and uses excellent teaching methods. He is adept at using his tablet and laser pointer to accentuate features being explored. He gets everyone engaged and this is not a script driven tour as he is very capable to veer off to satisfy everybody's interests. We were hanging on every word for 3 hours which is quite a feat because he uses participatory techniques to keep you involved. His passion for Mexican history comes shining through. You leave with observational tools that you can take to archeological sites helping you to have a richer experience.
