Hola! My name is Valeria, your local expert on all things Guadalajara! I was born and raised here in Guadalajara, Jalisco: the heart of Mexico. Home of Mariachis, Tequila, Charreria, and amazing food - it exemplifies everything I love about my country. After growing up here I stayed in the city for College, to study communications. This led me to jobs in journalism and a stint in marketing in the tequila industry. My real passion is working directly with other travelers to show them the best that my city has to offer. I have been working full-time as a guide for the last several years. I continue to take classes to learn more about the history of my country and explore more hidden areas of Jalisco. While I have traveled to over 30 countries and have lived in the United States, France, and Colombia, I have always considered Guadalajara my home. As a traveler myself, I understand that others want to make the most out of their time in a new area. I strive to provide experiences that feel more like being shown the city by a good friend rather than a tour guide. With my knowledge of the history, architecture, art, and customs of my city and country, let me share with you the experiences I know and love! Please reach out and let me know if I can assist you with your trip in any way or I could offer a custom tour for you and your group. Looking forward to meeting you! Over 5 years of Guiding Experience in Guadalajara Worked in Marketing for a Tequila Brand Bachelors Degree in Communications Taking Continuing Education Courses on Mexican Art & History Licensed and Insured to drive tourists in Mexico

Overview of your Guadalajara tour

Don't miss out on your chance to see authentic cantinas the way us locals do. These aren't the chain bars and restaurants found in the more touristical parts of the city- this is barrio! Let me introduce you to old neighbourhoods, new drinks and local traditions. What will you see then? What about a bike that was left at a cantina over 60 years ago by it's drunk owner? Check. Pigs feet on the appetizer menu? Check. Mariachi and other local musicians? Check. On this tour, we will visit three different cantinas. The first drink on each venue is covered, but any food you may want to taste and additional drinks to that first one will be up to be covered in site. Personally, I used to work for a tequila brand before, so I'll be able to give you some very unique insights about this industry.

Your Guadalajara tour itinerary

·We will start by gathering in Plaza de 9 Esquinas, which happens to be in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city and one of my favorite places to get Birria! ·From here we go to our first stop, Bar Morelias. This place has a great local vibe and here you can try a Yerba Buena - a cocktail known and enjoyed by many locals. ·Next up will be a short walk to La Occidental, another local favourite. Here you'll be able to try Pulque- a fermented drink made from agave sap. ·We'll then go on a 15 minute walk to the city centre to visit La Fuente. Here it's always a lively time, a mix of locals and foreigners, live music and maybe a game of Toques Toques - I'll explain that one on the tour. ·At the end of the tour, I'll give you instructions on how to return to your lodging or suggest more local places you might be interested in visiting! This itinerary could be customized upon request.
