Hola! My name is Valeria, your local expert on all things Guadalajara! I was born and raised here in Guadalajara, Jalisco: the heart of Mexico. Home of Mariachis, Tequila, Charreria, and amazing food - it exemplifies everything I love about my country. After growing up here I stayed in the city for College, to study communications. This led me to jobs in journalism and a stint in marketing in the tequila industry. My real passion is working directly with other travelers to show them the best that my city has to offer. I have been working full-time as a guide for the last several years. I continue to take classes to learn more about the history of my country and explore more hidden areas of Jalisco. While I have traveled to over 30 countries and have lived in the United States, France, and Colombia, I have always considered Guadalajara my home. As a traveler myself, I understand that others want to make the most out of their time in a new area. I strive to provide experiences that feel more like being shown the city by a good friend rather than a tour guide. With my knowledge of the history, architecture, art, and customs of my city and country, let me share with you the experiences I know and love! Please reach out and let me know if I can assist you with your trip in any way or I could offer a custom tour for you and your group. Looking forward to meeting you! No trip to Mexico is complete without experiencing Lucha Libre! This is not just professional wrestling, this is the most popular sport in Mexico besides Futbol. While many outside Mexico grew up with Superman and Batman, we grew up with Santo and Blue Demon as our heroes to watch on TV and in the movies! Besides attending the lucha libre show, we'll be acting in a true Mexican fashion by going to a cantina to prepare ourselves for the show. The main event will be in the Coliseo, and in my personal opinion, I believe half of the show of takes place in the audience. While the acrobatics are happening in the ring, you're going to want to pay attention to the banter between the different sections of the audience in the arena. I really do think it is a multi-dimensional experience!
·We will start our tour by meeting in Jardin de 9 Esquinas in front of the Fountain. ·From here, we'll go to a cantina to get a drink before the show. ·In the cantina, I'll tell you about the history of Lucha Libre and what to expect at the show. ·Afterwards, we'll take a short walk through historic neighbourhoods to get to the arena, the Coliseo. ·On arrival to the arena, we'll proceed to take our seats and get ready for the night's entertainment. ·The Luchas last from about 9-11pm, and during this time I'll get you another beer and explain the action going on in the ring and in the stands! ·At the end of the tour, I'll give you instructions on how to return to your lodging or suggest more local places you might be interested in visiting! This itinerary could be customized upon request. Includes tickets in the floor seats (a few rows from the ring), not bleachers.
