Highly, highly recommend Anwar. GDL is his hometown, so knows the city very well. He spent a lot of time explaining the different neighborhoods we explored and the differences between them, both from a financial perspective and from a lifestyle perspective. His command of English is excellent and he even helped me with some words I was mispronouncing and didn't know! These small things go a long way. He went out of his way, twice to accommodate special requests and tipped me off to a local custom, which I was completely unaware of, when I unknowingly was rude with silence. Now I know! Lol Finally, he has the patience of a saint! This was my first trip to GDL and I badgered this man with questions all day long, like a 6 yr old...and he had the answer, every time. If you are scouting for a move and/or considering Guadalajara as your next home, you need to spend a day (or 2!) with Anwar. You'll be glad you did. Cheers!

I would pick up tourists in Uber and talking in English they would ask me what places to see, what restaurants to eat at, where is there live mariachi. . . etc. In the end, they would just hire me to be their guide/driver. When it comes to a relocation tour, Anwar gives you more than what you pay for. The tour covers a lot of neighborhoods, and puts them in a comparative perspective. The information he shares about restaurants, shops, real estate (rental costs, possible realtors, etc), how to network with other expats, would be hard to find on the internet without many hours of searching. And even then your research would not have the thing that ties it all together: a comprehensive knowledge of the area. We've spent a lot of money on this trip and gotten great value from it. However, none of the money we've spent gave us the value of this relocation tour. Why? Because it answered all of our questions and we now know how we want to proceed. It was named "the coolest neighborhood in the world of 2022" by Timeout. com. --Colonia Providencia is another beautiful neighborhood full of pet-friendly parks to hang out with family and many nice houses at great prices! --Santa Tere neighborhood is an old traditional Mexican neighborhood that still retains its old traditions of living and antique housing. --We will pass through parks and plazas located throughout the different neighborhoods. And we can have lunch in a local eatery so you can get a feel for the area. --If there are any areas that interest you we can explore those areas too.
