The region of Jalisco is the most representative of the whole country. Jalisco is the land of the mariachi, tequila, charreria, and much more. Its colored villages invite you to walk, relax, and have fun. With many attractions like museums, galleries, shops, and excellent restaurants. The state capital, Guadalajara, is a fascinating place, a cosmopolitan city with its very own identity. The Lake Chapala area, with beautiful towns and very gentle weather throughout the year, is a favorite destination for winter vacations. Mexico is a country with a very rich culture and history. Ranks first in the Americas in the number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Its diversity of customs, its magnificent and traditional cuisine, climate, and above all, the friendliness of its people are what make this country a place to visit at least once in your life, always invited to return. Socrates said: "There is only one good, knowledge. There is only one evil, ignorance". My passion to know my country, its very vast history and culture, is what motivated me to become a tour guide. Since I was very young, I have enjoyed interacting with people from all over the world. I have been fortunate to be able to travel, live, and work in many different countries and learn about other cultures and customs. Now that I have the time and opportunity to show my country to visitors from any part of the world, I have the feeling that I am reaping the benefits of the knowledge I have cultivated all my life. Most of my life I have lived in this beautiful region, and I know very well its places, customs, and lots of nice and helpful people who always make us feel welcome. I am a good, experienced driver, and you always feel comfortable and safe in my vehicle. I will always do my best to make your experience in this region of Mexico memorable and enjoyable. I am a professional book editor and photographer. For the past 25 years, I have edited art books for museums, art galleries, and artisan towns. I have been working in the hospitality business for more than 20 years. While working for the local newspaper, I visited all the museums, historical sites, and buildings, as well as most of the towns and villages in the State of Jalisco, writing articles and taking photographs of all these places.

When you visit the town of Tequila, you will take in the entire array of Flavors of Mexico. You will be able to know the interesting process of planting and care of the agave plant, its uses for other products, and its work - traditional and industrial - to give life to Mexico's National Drink through complex steps that, in the end, give it its flavor, quality and texture. You will not leave these sets without first tasting some of their most famous drinks. Visit its historical buildings, the most emblematic are the Church of La Purisima and the City Hall, which houses an interesting mural painted by a local artist that represents the emergence of Tequila from a lightning bolt that fell just in a plant agave. Visit also the distilleries where you can get closer to the history of the production of this iconic drink which over the years, has become synonymous with Mexico around the world. Enjoy the view of the impressive agave landscape, honored with the title of World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Fantastic tour through the history of tequila - we truly enjoyed it.
Luis picked us up right on time at our AirBNB. I had signed us up though my wife did not have a high interest in tequila as a beverage. I wanted to see the landscape outside of Guadalajara. This tour met all both of our expectations. Luis provided info about the city and the area around it on our way to the distillery, Tres Mujeres where he provided a tour of the process to make tequila. His work history as a journalist both in Guadalajara and in the United States gave him the experience to know the area intimately and relate that to my experiences. My wife also enjoyed the tour very much, much more than she was expecting. Definitely will look up Luis the next time I am in Guadalajara.
Our tour was fabulous. We enjoyed the beautiful country side and the tour of the tequila distillery was very interesting. Louis was very informative and flexible with our schedule. We visited the town of tequila and the highlight of our trip was having lunch at Hacienda del Carmen I would highly recommend this tour guide.
Fantastic experience! Luis was very accommodating to our needs. He left no worries as was highly dependable for all our services. Made this part of our trip low stress. Luis is very knowledgeable of Guadalajara. I appreciate his easy-going personality, and he was kind to us. He made our trip enjoyable AND will hire Luis again when we travel back to Guadalajara.
Our guide was fantastic. Loved his country and his tours. It showed as we drove (6 of us) the 90 minutes plus to our destination. We had an exceptional tour and learned a ton about Tequila and the history of the region. Kept 3 adults and 3 teens very happy start to finish.
Luis was such a delightful guide! Extremely hospitable, flexible, knowledgeable and kind. His tour was the highlight of our visit to Jalisco! Looking forward to having him lead us on another trip in the future! Learned so much about the area from Guadalajara to Tequila and beyond, which makes visiting Mexico all the more enjoyable.
