Jalisco is home to the most representative items that represent Mexico in the world, Mariachi, Tequila and hat dance. But there is more in this land than those brands dyed by Hollywood to our country. I was born and raised in San Andres, one of the oldest barrios (neighborhoods) in Guadalajara, I belong to a large Mexican family. When I was 19 years old I went for an adventure to the United States, young and single with nothing to lose and lots to gain I migrated to the States. I was fortunate to meet lots of people from all over the world while I went to study in a community college, then I learned that there were lots of misconceptions about Mexico. First I study a GED and along the way I obtain an associated degree in liberal arts, then I decide I should do something to teach people about my country and I studied an associated degree in Traveling and Tourism. In the USA I lived mostly on the west coast but also for a while on the east coast. In the year 2000 I applied to the tourism bureau to get my credentials to become a Tourist guide and in 2001 I obtained a four-year permit which I renew twice and after twelve years I obtained my permanent permit. During this time I have met people from all over the world and I have participated in T. V. programs, radio programs, I have aided book writers and help people in different investigations. Family members search, climate change, owls research among many other adventures. So, since 2001 I've been guiding people from all over the world and enjoying what I do giving my best to every single person I have helped. Please allow me to show you my home and be part of your memories, memories that you will make when traveling into a new world that is waiting for you and your dear family members. On Guadalajara's south-east edge, a short 15-minute drive you'll be amazed what Tlaquepaque (Tla-kay-pa-key) has to offer. From historical buildings dating from the beginning of the 1600s when the rich Novo-Hispanos built their country homes that later on became one of the most important arts and crafts centers in Mexico, its irresistible mariachi, bands at "El Parian" (Mariachi's home). Most important in this town are the arts and crafts that you can find here, Tlaquepaque is home to the Pantaleon Panduro Museum permanent home of the Premio National de la Ceramica winners, where you'll be amazed by the inventiveness and hand talented of the Mexican people. Whether you like to travel for the sounds, or sights, or tastes, or perhaps for all three, this tour will leave you wanting more. San Pedro Tlaquepaque is one of the most beautiful towns in the entire country. As the locals call this town San Pedro Tlaquepaque.
Depending on the day and time we'll do our tour, most of the time the tour begins at the Premio Nacional de la Ceramica museum, where you can admire folk art from many different parts of the country, imagine a bullfight arena made of clay less than 4" in size, or a jar of 7' height and 4' in diameter, and all types of art crafts, made with clay, ceramics, glass, etc. As mentioned before after the museum we may visit one of the local artisan shops that are located in town. There you could see the process of the production of art, from there we'll stroll along the streets in Tlaquepaque visiting galleries and shops where you can acquire all kinds of art and crafts or just feed your vision with all the talent of the Mexican hands. We'll be visiting "El Parian" of the most Iconic places in the Mariachi World, a whole block where you can enjoy the most popular Mexican Music, if you want to taste Tequila or have one of the most traditional drinks in this place there are plenty of options.
