Hi! I am Kentaro (or "Ken"), working as a nationally licensed tour guide since 2015. Other than spending five years of my childhood in the US (State of Oregon), I have lived in the Greater Tokyo area my entire life. After graduating from college, I initially spent about 10 years working with a container shipping company headquartered in Singapore before making the shift to the tourism industry. My tour guiding focuses on central Tokyo and use the excellent public transportation system - perhaps one of the most efficient in the entire world. Not only is it the best way to quickly get around the city, it also gives you a good view of the way of life for locals living in Tokyo. After doing a tour with me, you should feel a lot more confident in being able to navigate the city on your own. I have tours of various themes suitable not just for first-time visitors to the city but repeating travelers who are seeking something different from their previous stays. During my time off, I also like to travel internationally just like you; I've done many visits to various parts of both Europe and Asia. Some of my tour content is inspired from my own experience of traveling. Thanks for reading this far into my profile and I look forward to assisting you with your Tokyo stay! ---Qualifications--- National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (2012-) Domestic Travel Service Supervisor (2020-) ---Transportation--- Tours are provided with the combination of walking and use of public transport. I do not offer the option of using a private vehicle. ---Restriction--- Due to my other work, I cannot do tours that would span multiple dates.

This tour visits a few several gardens and parks with good viewing opportunity of the autumn leaves. Normally mid-November to early December would be the peak timing but this can differ according to climate conditions. The areas we cover on this tour will be great to visit with or without the colors, especially if you are looking to view the quieter sides of the city. Like my other tours, this will be a combination of walking and use of public transport.
*HIGO HOSOKAWA GARDEN - traditional Japanese garden with roots from the Edo period *KANSEN-EN PARK - another Edo era garden located nearby *GINKGO AVENUE (Jingu Gaien) - row of ginkgo trees in the area near the Tokyo Olympic Stadium *YASUKUNI SHRINE - another spot known for abundance of ginkgo trees that turn golden There might be some modifications based on the progress of the foliage. Areas on the east side of Tokyo tend to have a slightly later timing.
