Hello, everyone in the world! My name is Rie. Good news for all of you who are planning a trip to Japan and Tokyo. I'm a Tokyo local and I'm here to show you the best places to go! But first, please get to know me. I was born and raised in Tokyo. With the exception of a time when I attended a public high school in the U. S. as an exchange student and a job transfer, I have spent most of my life in Tokyo. Tokyo is my hometown and I LOVE Tokyo. I have worked in a variety of industries, including banking, publishing, education, and travel. I believe this broad experience gives me a great advantage in my work as a guide. In particular, I have specialized in introducing Japanese and foreign arts and culture as an editor for over 20 years. In addition, when I traveled around the world as a tour conductor, I was often impressed by competent local guides who had not only knowledge but also hospitality and a sense of humor. These experiences have inspired me to spend the second half of my life creating and sharing best memories with you. So, please join me on a journey through Tokyo Wonderland! Just as I had a series of WOW moments when I traveled around the world, I hope you will have many WOW moments as well with me. National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (Certificate No. EN05723) Certified Itinerary Control Manager Authorized Tour Conductor (Overseas & Domestic) Tokyo City Guide Club Member I am not a driver. Tokyo is a unique city where the old and the modern meet. Come and experience its mysterious sensation in the middle of Tokyo. Meiji Shrine is undoubtedly the most beloved shrine of the Japanese people. As you stroll through the deep forest of the shrine, you will experience its history and discover the secret of why this place is so dear to us all. Harajuku is a charming town with lots to see. In this tour, after leaving Meiji Jingu Shrine, first we will walk through Takeshita-dori Street, a cutting -edge place now as it used to be. After that, we’ll head to Shibuya, stopping by some trendy spots tucked away in the back alleys of so-called URAHARA (Hidden Harajuku)area . Let’s check out the rooftop garden at Harakado. This is a tour that efficiently takes you through trendy spots known to Tokyo locals through easily confusing alleys. The tour concludes with a visit to Shibuya’s famous Crazy Crossing.
- 10:00 Meet at JR Harajuku Station West Exit -Meiji Jingu Shrine, Jingu Forest, Jingu Inner Garden (entrance fee 500yen) upon request. -11:30 Explore (or walk through) Takeshita Street and small alleys of URAHARA Area -13:30 Ends at Shibuya Crazy Crossing The itinerary is flexible, for any changes please let me know.
