Greetings from Tokyo! With over 20 years of guiding experience in Japan, 15 in Tokyo, I am extremely excited at the prospect of showing you my back yard. This place is awesome! There was once a time when I was seeing this great metropolis for the first time. I recall how in awe I was of not just the traditional, cultural and historical sides to Tokyo, but the the everyday aspects of life here, too. Overview of your Tokyo tour

An evening in Tokyo's most famous nightlife district, Shinjuku. This intense area is everything you imagined of Tokyo after sundown - buzzing with excitement, you'll find narrow alleyways filled with bustling eateries, colourful signs galore, giant overhead TV screens, intimate bars, raucous karaoke joints and classy department store lined avenues - all drenched in neon. I would be delighted to share an evening with you, experiencing the intensity of Shinjuku, yet at a leisurely pace. We'll be sure to allow time for photography along with food and drinks at 2 different izakaya - Japanese-style tapas restaurants.

Your Tokyo tour itinerary

- Meet outside JR Shinjuku Station's South Gate - Walk to the 243m high Metropolitan Government Building to watch the world's largest projection mapping show on its facade! - Wind our way through the famous food alley of Omoideyokocho and eat at izakaya # 1 - Enjoy "Japanese tapas" at a lively second restaurant. - Wander through the neon-lit streets of Kabukicho, Tokyo's most vibrant entertainment district; - A drop off at a cozy bar in the alleys of Golden Gai or return to your hotel.
