Tokyo Highlights Express: Personalized Half-Day Guided Tour

After warm greetings with Akio, we set out by taxi to the grounds of the Imperial Palace for a gentle walk and a lesson in the history of the palace. Then followed a visit to the Meiji Jingu Shrine, a tranquil site dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his consort. A driver then took us from our hotel to our cruise ship in Yokohama, and we were most pleased to have congenial Akio narrating our drive and continuing to instruct us about Japanese history and customs.

Akio was at the specified meeting location about 10 minutes early and it was a relief to see and finally meet him in person. We had conversed only thru emails, which he answered quickly and clearly. He was attentive and kept a close eye on all three of us so we would not get lost and helped push my sister in her wheelchair along the city streets. I would highly recommend visiting Asakusa, which was an amazing place and Sky Tree Tower at dusk; we were fortunate to see Mt. Fuji at sunset. Thank you, Akio!

Akio's gentle nature and proficient English made for an easy and enjoyable afternoon on this, our first visit to Tokyo. We highly recommend him!

Akio T. was a friendly, kind and knowledgeable guide who helped us make the most of our short lay over in Tokyo. He was able to navigate us around using public transport so we saw the sights of interest to us, that we had discussed (Imperial Palace, busiest intersection and Japanese pop culture centre). However he personalised our trip, adding in the Shintō temple and a Japanese supermarket which were great. We would really recommend him to other visitors.
