Hi, I am Toshi, the National Certified Guide for both English and Spanish. I passed English 3 years ago in 2015 and Spanish in 1978 over 40 years ago. I lived in the USA for over 10 years and in Latin America for over 5 years. I am now settled in Yokohama, Japan for over 20 years. My favorite hobby is appreciating different glasses of wines from different wine regions of the world. In fact, I loved wine so much, I studied wine when I was stationed at New York, and finally became the wine sommelier. Now, I also teach wine at least once a month in Tokyo and have over 100 registered students. My main area for guiding is Tokyo. Tokyo offers such a wide variety of attractions and beautiful places such as historical and cultural places, museums, modern buildings, and fine restaurants. I especially like to take friends to many different styles of Japanese restaurants and bars. As a wine sommelier, I can guide you to the good combinations of Japanese Foods and Drinks not only wines but also Sake, Shochu and Whiskies and others. In addition to Tokyo, I also do guiding for places like Nikko, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji area and its surrounding area. I do guiding not only for daytime but also for evenings like from 5:30 -9:30. So if you come to Japan and looking for a guide to a variety of Japanese foods and drinks please contact me. Remember, Japanese foods are not only Sushi, Tempura and Sukiyaki. I hope you can enjoy Japan with me. I will be waiting for your contacts. National Guide Certificate for Spanish(1978) National Guide Certificate for English(2015) Wine Sommelier by Sommelier Society of America(2006) Sake Sommelier (2019) ・I can not provide guiding while I am driving. Here in Japan, that activity requires a special driving license. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

An Izakaya, like a pub in the West, is one of the ultimate experience in Japan. It offers a place for visitors to enjoy food and drinks in a social environment. It is a type of casual restaurant in Japan where people enjoy Japanese food and drinks. A broad range of people goes to Izakaya, college students, seniors, couples. . . and most of the visitors who go to the Izakaya are friends, work colleagues, etc. I will take you to some of the most popular areas in Tokyo where you can enjoy typical Japanese foods and drinks in a very friendly atmosphere. I am a certified sommelier, so I can recommend not only wines but sake, shochu or even Japanese whiskey that goes very well with each food.
Sample of tour time itinerary: 1) Pick you up at most convenient places like your hotel or at a certain station or landmarks like Shibuya Hachi Statue area at around 5:30 or so, then I will take you to the area where my favorite Izakayas are, namely Shibuya, Shinjuku, Azabu Juban, Asakusa to name the few. I finish the tour at 9:30 or 10:00pm at latest. Please do Bar hopping by yourselves. I usually do not take customers to Bar hopping unless they demand to do so, especially if the group is over 5 people. Bar hopping of a group over 5 is likely to be refused in some bars. It is customary that Bar owners refuse large numbers of people to occupy seats and drinking endlessly. Most of the bars do not have large spaces and the owner ask you to leave after a while if there are people waiting to seat outside. 3) Then I will take you to the train station where you feel sure to take your train back to your hotel.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
