Hello everyone! My name is Go. I’m here to assist you as your personal navigator, guiding you through the captivating charms of Tokyo, Kamakura, and Hakone and My.Fuji. Are you planning a trip to Japan? If so, please feel at ease and entrust me with the important task of being your guide. Are you interested in Japanese culture, cuisine, shopping, shrines and temples, anime, karaoke, or traditional crafts? If so, look no further. I can customize a wide range of experiences, from classic tours around Tokyo and Kamakura to special adventures tailored just for you. Fulfilling your wishes brings me great joy. Before becoming a guide, I worked as an automotive product engineer for a global company. I visited 25 countries to provide technical and quality guidance and also lived in Italy and China, where I gained valuable international experience. During my travels, I was deeply inspired by the storytelling skills of local guides and discovered my passion for sharing the wonders of Japanese culture with people from around the world. After returning to Japan, I earned my National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter qualification. I then spent six years working as a volunteer guide to develop my skills before beginning my professional guiding career. Today, I focus on designing unique day trips in Tokyo and the surrounding areas. I offer a variety of experiences, including leisurely walks through charming old-town neighborhoods, writing haiku, tasting local street food, joining izakaya tours, watching sumo wrestling, and visiting cutting-edge attractions such as teamLab Planets and teamLab Borderless. Even if you are visiting Japan on a business trip and have limited free time, I can help you experience Japanese culture. Are you worried about planning your trip? Don’t be! Customizing tours to match each guest’s interests and preferences is my specialty. I am ready to respond quickly and confidently to a wide variety of requests. In my free time, I enjoy singing Italian canzone and taking care of my roses. Once again, my name is Go, which can mean “strong” or “gorgeous” in Japanese. It’s easy to remember, isn’t it? So, are you ready to “Go” explore Tokyo together? Let’s do it! National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter License No. EN00529, obtained in 2007 Eiken Grade 1 Italian Proficiency Test, Pre-2 Level Please note that I am unable to drive while guiding. However, I can arrange taxis when necessary. TikTok video featuring one of my Tokyo tours: https://www.tiktok.com/@sheshortsweet/video/7632404147408538910

Overview of your Tokyo tour

Kamakura is a historic town where Japan’s first samurai government was established. Surrounded by mountains and the sea, it offers a beautiful blend of nature, history, and traditional culture. On this tour, you will visit Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Kamakura’s most important Shinto shrine, closely linked to the Minamoto samurai clan. You will also explore Hokokuji, a peaceful Zen temple known as the “Bamboo Temple” for its grove of about 2,000 bamboo trees. If you wish, you can enjoy matcha tea while admiring the garden. Other highlights include the Great Buddha, Kamakura’s iconic bronze statue created nearly 800 years ago, and Hase Temple, famous for its large wooden Kannon statue, seasonal flowers, gardens, and ocean views. At lively Komachi Street, you can enjoy local food and shop for crafts and souvenirs. This day trip from Tokyo introduces you to Kamakura’s samurai heritage, Buddhism, Shinto, natural beauty, food, and modern town life.

Our tour with Go-San was outstanding. He provided us with handouts with great information about the sites we were visiting. The transportation was very easy to use and we made sure we were well informed throughout the day. We had a great time. Plan your day with him, you will not regret it.

Go was great! He had a wonderful itinerary lined up and was flexible to add the stops and things we wanted to. He was prepared and we learned alot about the history of Japan and about the various temples we visited. The public transportation went smoothly and we enjoyed that too! Had a delicious lunch and learned about japanese cuisine. The bamboo forest was calm and relaxing. We recommend him as a tour guide!

We had a very enjoyable day with Go-san in Kamakura. He was very organized and had many interesting facts prepared about the temples and shrines we visited as well as general information about the region. He adapted to our travel style - providing the right amount of information and staying at each stop for the right amount of time. This tour involves various forms of public transportation and a-lot of walking which was perfect for us. We saw many things that we would never have discovered or navigated on our own. Our favourite was the bamboo forest and the giant Buddha. Thank you for the wonderful day!

Go gave us an amazing tour starting with the historic rail line to Kamakura in a luxurious train featuring both the massive Buddha statue and a major Shinto Shrine. The narrow streets and rugged terrain is very different from Tokyo. The gardens at both sites are spectacular and well worth the visit! Go took us to an awesome local restaurant where no English was spoken. Fun and educational day! Thank you!

Go's knowledge and expertise on all aspects of a Kamakura visit was outstanding. We maximized our time there and were able to visit 4 temples, especially an older Zen one not frequently on the "tourist route". We also had a great lunch at Dragon Burger...excellent, and visited an Owl Cafe! A memorable day, to say the least! Oh, another highlight was the Bamboo Temple...very serene. If Kamakura is on you list of places to visit, Go is the guide for you!
