Embark on a journey through Japan's rich history and culture. Despite the scars of World War II, Tokyo's local areas retain their charm. Our journey commences in Yanaka, a miraculously spared neighborhood that boasts a wealth of historical treasures, including remnants of the samurai era. The retro district is a favorite among locals and is sure to leave an indelible impression. As lunch hour approaches, we'll journey through Ginza's hidden food markets, where you can indulge in an array of Japanese treats, including wine, sake, or whisky, if you so desire. Lastly, we will visit either Asakusa, Tokyo's prime tourist area, renowned for its first temple, and its position as the central downtown before WW-II, or a less crowded Yasukuni Shrine. The latter is a controversial site where a Mitsubishi Zero plane is on display, a poignant reminder of Japan's turbulent history.
