Greetings! Tokyo is a vibrant megacity, and I'd be happy to help you explore and create your own unique experience. Are you fascinated by Japanese culture and history? I'd love to take you on a tour, tailored to your interests, and share my own experiences and unique perspective, as well as those of my growing family. Whether you seek out the well-known attractions or the hidden gems off the beaten path, together we can create something truly special for you. I've been a tour guide since 2018 and am confident in my ability to adapt to your needs. Tokyo has so much to offer, from traditional to modern cuisine, world-renowned whisky and sake, coffee culture, and more, all with hidden surprises waiting to be discovered. I first visited Japan as a tourist in 2008 and later became a resident in 2015. I cherish the food scene, architecture, parks, safety, culture, and the ever-present sense of discovery and excitement. Prior to my move to Tokyo, I lived in Canada for 15 years, where I worked as a unit coordinator in an Emergency Room. I was born and raised in France, where I worked as an archaeologist specializing in the transition from the Roman Empire to the Middle Ages. I also had the opportunity to study German in Berlin and Korean in Seoul, both of which were amazing experiences. Apart from Japan, Canada and France, I have traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. My favorite landscapes are Iceland and Ladakh, where I love to trek. Spain and Thailand are my favorite food destinations; however, my most unforgettable cultural experience was in Myanmar. Though, Japan manages to cover all of these with its magnificent Japanese Alps, fantastic cuisine, and unique culture. Licence Histoire de l'art et archéologie Have shown Tokyo and surrounding areas including Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji and Nikko since 2018 I am not a driver. I can arrange for a private car with driver or taxi.

Embark on a journey through Japan's rich history and culture. Despite the scars of World War II, Tokyo's local areas retain their charm. Our journey commences in Yanaka, a miraculously spared neighborhood that boasts a wealth of historical treasures, including remnants of the samurai era. The retro district is a favorite among locals and is sure to leave an indelible impression. As lunch hour approaches, we'll journey through Ginza's hidden food markets, where you can indulge in an array of Japanese treats, including wine, sake, or whisky, if you so desire. Lastly, we will visit either Asakusa, Tokyo's prime tourist area, renowned for its first temple, and its position as the central downtown before WW-II, or a less crowded Yasukuni Shrine. The latter is a controversial site where a Mitsubishi Zero plane is on display, a poignant reminder of Japan's turbulent history.
• Meet at Nishi-Nippori station on the Yamanote line (I will send you recommendation about how to get there) • Walk through Yanaka and Sendagi (approximately 2 hours) • Around lunch time, we will have many options depending on the day and your preferences, from traditional meal to Bib Michelin awarded ramen. • we will take the subway to go to Ginza (20mn transit) and visit the area (approximately 1hour and half) • Then subway or train (20mn) to the next location: • Asakusa or Yasukuni Shrine (approximately 1hour and half) *If you have any special requests or preferences, I'm more than happy to work with you to create a customized itinerary for your tour.
