This tour is the best choice for all those who besides to learn in depth about the Jewish heritage in Hungary, would like to see the general beauty of our wonderful city. As an active member of the Jewish Community, live all my life here - almost in every corner of the city, I have what to add in terms of Jewish connection - either historical or about present day. General part of our tour covers the major highlights of the city, showing the grandeur and Old World charm of Budapest. Visit both sides of the River: the colorful hills of Buda and the bustling businesslike boulevards of Pest. Explore the gorgeous House of Parliament, the elegant Andrassy Avenue, the impressive Heroes Square, walk in the Castle District and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view to the city from the Fisherman's Bastion. The Jewish part, just to mention few hot spots: Dohany Synagogue, Jewish Museum, Orthodox Section, Shoes' Memorial by the River Danube, Glass House- Rescue and Resistance Center.

We visited Budapest as a day trip by train from Vienna, which is nearly 3 hours in each direction. That left us only 6 hours to see Budapest. Andrea managed to give us an up close and personal look at the Jewish quarter of Budapest (including lunch at a wonderful restaurant called Carmel), as well as a great overview of the city through a combination of driving and walking segments of the tour. Andrea is very knowledgeable and willing to modify the tour as needed for each individual circumstance. We highly recommend her as the guide to use in Budapest.

Andrea was very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. We took the eight hour tour which was half focused on the main city sights and half focused on the Jewish quarter. Both parts were interesting, with a lot of great information that you might not get elsewhere. It was a very hot day, so Andrea adjusted the tour to make things more comfortable for us. It was a great way to see the city!

Meet you at your Hotel. - the Jewish Quarter, - Dohany Synagogue, - Jewish Museum, - Holocaust Memorial, - Orthodox Synagogue and Courtyard with the - Mikvah building from outside, - the kosher stores, learn about the kosher availability in Hungary today. - walk thought the always busy passages of the Gozsdu Courtyard - Ghetto Wall Memorial - Rumbach Synagogue. (Seeing three, one nicer than the other Synagogue, give you a better understanding what was the Pre War Judapest ((-: - Optional snack or lunch break. - After it we drive to the Glass House - rescue and resistant center during WWII - Andrassy Ave, - Heroes's Square, - City Park, - Parliament Building from outside, - walk around the Castle District and see the Medieval Synagogue. Notes: - Nov 1 -March 2, Rumbach Synagogue interior visit only on Sunday. -Orthodox Synagogue interior visit always depends on availability. -Dress code for Synagogues visit: shoulders must be covered, no shorts or short skirts, please. Thank you.
