Itacaré City Tour and a Boat Trip to Beautiful Cleandro Waterfall

First we go to Itacaré urban beaches (Resende, Tiririca, Costa, Ribeira and Concha Beach).
Then we embark on the boat at the city beach (Orla). We take a boat up the Contas river for approximately 30 minutes to this special waterfall located on private property within beautiful mangrove swamps.

The Conta river is the second largest river in Bahia. It is born on the chapada Diamantina and follows 618 km to Itacaré. We take a boat to relax in its calm waters with a delicious view of the forest.

I recommend returning in time to see the sunset from the best location as we'll get a privileged view from the river.

We'll also have time to enjoy a meal at a restaurant on the river banks.

Private Boat Ride to Camamu Bay and Barra Grande

In the morning we drive to the city of Camamu located 50 kilometers from Itacaré. Upon arrival we embark on a 26 ft. covered speedboat with fresh water and a thermal cooler.

Camamu Bay is the 3rd largest Bay in Brazil and contains several islands where paradisiac beaches are found.

The main islands are Goió, Campinho, and Sapinho, an island famous Pedra Furada island, for its pierced rock formations. Included also is the beautiful Barra Grande beach Ponta do Mutá. We don't sail in the open sea thus avoiding the chance of becoming seasick.

We are able to enjoy walking and exploring the islands. We can eat lunch on the island of Sapinho where we will find delicious fish and seafood to satisfy our individual appetites.

In this tour, after passing by the most popular urban beaches of Itacaré, we will learn how to get to the more isolated Prainha, which is attainable by feet through 45 minutes of beautiful trekking. With 4 different landscapes that will give you a bigger historical and ecological notion about Itacaré, to be explained by me, your local guide.

Four Beaches and a Waterfall - Itacaré Private Tour

Tour drives to a trail from where we walk on a path and experience Mata Atlantica primary forestation while hearing sounds of water and surrounding jungle.

We reach Engenhoca beach, frequented by swimmers and surfers both learning and practicing. It's perfect for a bath in its gentle waves or the warm river which ends at the beach.

After a little time at Engenhoca, we continue walking to Hawaiizinho, another beautiful yet small but popular beach where locals make delicious tapioca. It's a place for another sweet bath.

Our next walk along the coastal shore takes us to Gamboa, a deserted tiny beach but picturesque for photos. Our walk continues up a gentle slope opening to a vista of endless Itacarezinho beach.

Once reaching Itacarezinho beach, guests have the option to eat at its fine restaurant in front of the sea or have a gentle long or short beach walk or swim. We drive from Itacarezinho to Tijuipe waterfall. most appreciated for its lush surroundings and warm waters.

Discover Bahia's Traditional Biodiverse Farming in a Half-Day Tour

In Southern Bahia region (a. k. a Cacao's Coast) it is historically common to have some diversity of species in the farms, like the popular cabruca system.

In the tour we will walk in a sustainable biodiverse local farm, and meet the actual trees/plants of famous fruits like: cacao tree, cupuaçu, coffee, sugar, açaí, dendê, banana, papaya, amongst many others. We will see how the use of the land has influenced the social and natural landscape and what are the contemporary alternatives for more sustainable farming.

You will be delighted and surprised by the beautiful colours, shapes and flavours from the raw plants and fruits, and learn how to identify them wherever you go. You will witness the harvesting and processing methods and taste the native and exotic tropical fresh fruits traditionally cultivated in the region, and explain the differences between them.

Delicious Itacaré beaches Jeribucaçu and Arruda

Walking through beautiful Mata Atlântica forest to an amazing ocean vista and begin descending a trail of medium difficulty, we arrive at Jeribucaçu. Jeribucaçu beach includes a river flowing into the sea. The waters here are special, ocean and sweet fresh water for relaxation. Also there are magical mangroves with rich river and sea life.

We then walk another 15 minutes on a natural coastal trail along the beach shore to discover Arruda beach, a small cove with delicious natural coral pools which depend on the tides. These spots are ideal for photography. Usually lunch of freshly baked fish grilled with rice, banana's farofa and vinaigrette, is eaten at a native food stall. Relax on the beach, swim, surf or enjoy beach sports.

From Cocoa to Chocolate in an Itacaré Fazenda de Cacau

Fazenda Vila Rosa, 28 kilometers from Itacaré , is located in Taboquinhas, a municipality of Itacaré. Famous for its cacao plantations, Taboquinhas preserves a huge area of Mata Atlantica (Atlantic rain forest). Like Itacaré, the village is watered by Bahia's second longest river, Rio de Contas whose origin is Chapada Diamantina and flows 618 kilometers to the sea in Itacaré.

The cacao farm, Vila Rosa preserves a beautifully restored colonial house with natural pools for bathing. Vila Rosa offers a walk through the cacao trees and a look at the process of chocolate production. The fazenda has a chocolate shop and a restaurant to enjoy lunch.

Private Off-Road Tour to Península de Maraú in Itacaré

This tour depends on the times of tides because pools form only at low tide. These pools are perfect for snorkeling and observing fish. Taipú beach, located on the outside of Maraú peninsula 60 kilometers away from Itacaré, is reached by driving 19 kilometers on an asphalt roadway and 41 kilometers on dirt roads. We will be at the pools for lunch.

After eating we will go to see the charming village of Barra Grande and one of the most beautiful beaches on Camamu Bay, Ponta do Mutá. On our return to Itacaré, we will stop at delightful Algodoēs beach on the south side of Maraú peninsula.

Note: We do not travel at night. Pools form only in full moon or new moon phases.
